Description

Beacon Locator Buoy designed to be used with this Master Station to form a Beacon Locator Network

It can be easily air-dropped from my Airbus A400M Cargo Plane

The System:
This Beacon Locator Buoy + Master Station system allows to locate multiple Emergency Beacons on the map at the same time.

You can place multiple Buoys around the map (up to 60), and the use the Master Station to collect all the information from the Buoys (within 40km).
Accuracy depends on the amount and position of the Buoys: with with a good grid of Buoys you can have ~30-60m accuracy, with bad grid you will have ~100-300m accuracy.

For the best results, place the Buoys with a distance of ~10km between them.

Is there a way to refill your plane with Buoys without despawning the ones you already deployed?

@spacechaos202 Have a look at Pony's Beacon Locator System (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2060370662) , it's the one I used as the framework for mine, and it basically uses both GPS position of the Buoys, and the time between beacon pulses to triangulate the position of multiple Beacon Locators.

@C4RB0N Hi! I am working on my own beacon locator, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to turn transponder pings into distance from the time between them. If you're okay with sharing, could you please let me know how your system does this?

@KingTiger101 Well, that's still valid for the Buoys, since they don't have electric connectors. So remember not to exceed 180knots when transporting them, and to lock all the Cargo Tracks.

@C4RB0N They were on. I read in another one of your creations' description, that the rails are not strong enough to hold things when going above 180 knots or something like that, so I just attacked a cargo crate with the iso connector and used it to block the buoys.

@KingTiger101 That's because you have to turn on the Cargo Zones rail brakes, from the Loadamaster's Station or Ramps Panel monitors.
They automatically turn on for 20 seconds when spawning, to prevent cargo from moving around freely, and allow you to manually lock the desired zones.

For some reason they all gather at the back of the plane and get stuck. I have the rail connectors on.

@williefili Use a Bigger Workbench to spawn the A400M, and then copy-paste the Buoys inside.

1st of all i cant the creative base wont let me spawn the airbus and 2nd of all i have no clue how to use the select tool.

@williefili You can easily spawn them directly in the Cargo Bay by placing them with the Selection Tool in the Workbench.
