Description
Alpine Rift

Deprecated as of October 2020

A small, multi-purpose, 'Career Phase Two' ship. Meant to be easy on PC performance and friendly for MP / RP. A fair amount of features and detail packed into its small hull, this is/was intended as a vintage style of ship but it turned out to look and feel a bit more modern. Mostly an 'analog' boat as I prefer, so not a lot of automated systems, though it does have 'Pilot Assist' as I know autopilot is a popular and useful feature. Anyway, it is what it is, I hope you can enjoy it. If you can't enjoy it, you can always sink it :)

Features
  • Sinkable
  • 19.25 x 6.25 meters
  • 14.25 meters in height (With mast in raised position)

  • 23 knots Top Speed
  • 16 knots Cruising Speed
  • 7,500 liter Fuel Tank
  • Range Calculator
  • Approximately 120 kms Range (Low Gear at 80% throttle at about 12 knots)
  • 10,000 liter Storage Tank (If Diesel, can transfer to Fuel Tank for almost 300 kms range)
  • Two Fuel Transfer Hoses (Stored under the deck rails, used for refueling, fuel transfer, filling or extracting water ballast, etc)
  • Small Crane with Medium Winch (Used for anchor handling, fluid hose handling, etc)
  • Large Stern Winch (Primarily used for towing)
  • Water Cannon
  • Height Adjustable Mast
  • Multiple Waypoint Auto Pilot (I call it 'Pilot Assist' as it does not control throttles)
  • Radio
  • Bridge to Stern Intercom
  • Interior Heat
  • 8 Shot Illumination Flare Launcher
  • 8 Shot Smoke Flare Launcher
  • Low Fuel Alarm with Silencer
  • Low RPM Chime and Indicator Light

    Helm Controls

    W/S Keys--------------Combined Throttles
    A/D Keys---------------Rudders
    Left/Right Arrows----Rotate Searchlights

    1-Main Systems (as detailed above)

    3-Searchlights
    4-Sound Horn

    6-Lower Mast

Some Notes
The fluid management at the stern is colour coded. Blue, green, black on the connectors and the relevant dials, buttons.
To transfer from Storage tank to Fuel Tank, use one of the fuel hoses located under the deck rails and connect to the two connectors in the deck. Turn on the Fuel Tank fuel pump.
Filling the Storage Tank with water, simply connect one end to the connector and the other drop in the water. Turn on Storage Tank pump.
Hopefully it's fairly easy to understand and use.
It's short, fairly narrow and tall and as such, it's tipsy and doesn't like heavy seas. I did what I could.
I don't get the chance to MP so the radio and intercom are untested. Hopefully I hooked them up right...please let me know if you have any issues!!
The scuttle activator is located in the engine room, tucked in with the electronics/microcontrollers).
The secret compartment activator is located somewhere on the ship...it's a secret compartment after all...

Happy Sails!!

the limits on the throttles are on the full throttle end, not idle. so they die when you go to idle.

Updated...fixed that bad connection and she can now sink...

@workshophunter...Bad wiring I guess...thanks for mentioning, I'll get that fixed.

As for a 'sink switch'...it was hard enough getting it to float and now you want it to sink?

Hehe...but maybe I could try. I never understood the fascination with sinking ships but decided to make my next one sinkable and it is strangely satisfying to watch a ship go under. No promises but I'll have a look at the Rift and see if/where I can poke some holes in her hull.

Cheers!

Its a great boat but I have a few questions, well, one actually, why does pressing number 5, the "night light" not only turn on the night light but also open the door on the left side?
