Description
Overview
Automatically assigns targets to allied soldier squads.

Enable/disable targetting enemies (New in Version 1.1)
The following enemies can be enabled/disabled for targetting:
- Ogres
- Kidnappers/Torchers
- Thieves

How it works
Soldier squads patrol an area of a set radius from their positions at the beginning of an invasion. Soldier squads return to their initial position when there are no more enemy units within their patrol area.

Soldier squads may be moved around any time to change their patrol areas.

The patrol area radius may be changed using Zat's ModMenu.

High level explanation of how targets are selected
- Soldiers have a patrol area defined by their position at the beginning of an invasion, and a set radius from that position.
- Soldiers may only be assigned or reassigned to enemies within their patrol area, on the same landmass.
- Soldiers stick to their targets, even if their targets exit the patrol area, unless they are reassigned to maintain a specific ratio described below.
- A ratio of 3 soldiers for a single ogre to 1 soldier for a single viking squad is maintained whenever possible.
- Ogres have priority when assigning soldiers, i.e., the assigned soldier count for each ogre must reach the next multiple of 3, if possible, before the assigned soldier count for each viking squad reaches the next multiple of 1.
- Whenever the soldier or enemy numbers change, e.g., soldiers dying, enemies getting on a boat, getting off a boat or dying, some soldiers may be reassigned to maintain the 3:1 ratio.
- The 3:1 ratio may be violated if specific enemies are not reachable by specific soldiers.
- When there are no more enemies in the patrol area, soldiers return to their initial position.

Example Scenarios
Scenario 1
4 soldiers, 1 ogre, 1 viking squad
- 3 soldiers to ogre
- 1 soldier to viking squad

Scenario 2
7 soldiers, 1 ogres, 2 viking squads
- 3 soldiers to ogre
- 1 soldier to first viking squad
- 1 soldier to second viking squad
- 2 soldiers to ogre

Scenario 3
7 soldiers, 2 ogres, 2 viking squads
- 3 soldiers to first ogre
- 3 soldiers to second ogre
- 1 soldier to first viking squad

Scenario 4
3 soldiers, 3 viking squads, 1 ogre arrives later while 3 viking squads are still alive
- 1 soldier to each viking squad
- All 3 soldiers reassigned to ogre on arrival

Scenario 5
4 soldiers, 2 ogres
- 2 soldiers to each ogre

Scenario 6
4 soldiers, 1 ogre, 1 viking squad arrives later while ogre is still alive
- 4 soldiers to ogre
- 1 soldier reassigned from ogre to viking squad on arrival

Scenario 7
4 soldiers, 1 ogre, 1 viking squad out of range of the 4 soldiers
- 4 soldiers to ogre
- If viking squad becomes reachable by at least 1 soldier, 1 soldier gets reassigned from the ogre to the viking squad

Scenario 8
4 soldiers, 1 ogre reachable by only 2 soldiers, 1 viking squad reachable by only the other 2 soldiers
- 2 soldiers to ogre
- 2 soldiers to viking squad
- If ogre becomes reachable by at least 1 soldier on the viking squad, 1 soldier gets reassigned from the viking squad to the ogre

This mod will not be updated for AI Kingdoms. AI for soldiers and archers already exist in the base game, so there is no need for this mod. It will continue to be up for anyone who will still be playing the version before AI Kingdoms.
