Hand Mover

Description
Edit: If you downloaded this and saved it before 5/25/2020, I drew the arrow on backwards lol. Please save the corrected object.

Couldn't find one, made one myself.

Drag and drop this object to quickly and easily move hand zones around without using the Gizmo tool. The hand zone (and everything in it) will move to match the position and rotation of this object.

Right click the mover and save it, then you can spawn it in your own games or mods.

The mover can be set to a specific player color or it can be left blank, in which case it moves the hand of the player who grabs it. See more detailed instructions in the mod.

Note: As far as I know, there's no way to update the position of your in-game avatar without saving and reloading.

If you want to use the code in a more attractive object or something more fitting with your mod, do the following:

1) Spawn a hand mover and the object you'd like you use instead of the hand mover.
2) Right click the hand mover and go Scripting -> Scripting Editor.
3) Copy the entire text in the window that pops up.
4) Right click the desired object and go Scripting -> Scripting Editor.
5) Paste the text into the empty window that pops up.
6) Save the object, or save the mod.

mods are JSON files, to be precise. And yeah they just get saved into your folder. You can actually set which in the Configuration menu

Just assume I may someday go crazy or my entire account will get deleted due to illegal board game piracy, then every single mod using this would break. It's paranoia, but I'm also satisfied with the instructions for copying the code into whatever object you want.

(Also I'm pretty sure the online system is just peer to peer and mods are just text files that can be downloaded from anywhere you can host text files)

I understood the argument for image-hosting breaking... until they added Steam Cloud. Now you can host your images on Steam, so it depends on that being up. And if Steam isn't up, you can't play or get new mods anyway! So it's pretty much the perfect solution

This one only works with single hands, but making one that works with multiple hands will be simple. I'll add it tonight or tomorrow.

Art-wise, I prefer using built-in TTS objects that won't suddenly break if an image-host goes down.

I do agree with the look though. Just finding a little clip art of something like a hand or an arrow or both would be nicer than the arrow u hand-drew (hehe) on a square token. And then you could update the thumbnail to match

Neat idea for a mod, I like it. Does it have a way to handle multiple hands for the same colored players? like maybe a version of the token with a lil 2 on it to move the 2nd hand

It actually doesn't matter a bit which direction the arrow points as long as it works consistently. No cause for embarrassment :)

I added a different version (in grey) that will rotate the hand objects in the opposite direction.

Also if things start displaying upside-down in your hand that's cause your mod's cards are upside down in the first place.

Drew the arrow on backwards. Very embarrassing.
