The American Orient Express was a luxury passenger train that operated a little like a cruise ship on rails. The tickets cost $5,000 per person, but the train offered first class luxury experience on board as the train traveled from Coast to Coach. The train traveled too and through many of the most scenic places in the United States. The train saw a fair bit of success, but experienced financial problems and shut down in 2008.
