Description
Part of project Thundershield, the TSC-CV-08 Jerald is a top of the line helicarrier based off seafaring naval carriers. Built for large faction use, long range patrols, and prominent projection of power, the Jerald is built with dedicated space for 25 fighter jets and 4 vtol strike craft. A mobile base unto its own, the Jerald is equipped with a full set of production systems for refining, assembling, and construction needs. Print new jets on the go with the built in blue print system to build IEC Hornets and Strike Fighter craft. Support ground operations with a built in drop pod system. With inter-connected radar systems, Thundershield class carriers are able to see allies and foe alike while operating with vehicles equipped with the same radar system. The crowning feature of the Thundershield class carrier is its superb ability to launch and recover aircraft while moving. Utilizing a combination of control computers (programmable blocks with scripts) Thundershield class carriers maintain an adjustable steady speed flight at 3-4km altitudes from the ground while staying gravitcally aligned. This allows smooth sortie operations anywhere around a planet.

Works with the arrestor wire mod while hovering still and while in flight. Place the arrestor wire ends on the grey squares in landing zone white lines for optimal spacing and snare chances but feel free to place as you see fit.
Perfectly adaptable for the newest water mod. Must have the plane parts mod active to not crash the game.

But yeah, there's a height that you can change on one of the LCD panels on the bridge. I think.

There's some LCD panels on the bridge that show its height. I think you edit it there? Its been a while. I used a hover script and push its boundaries way up to the limit of atmospheric thrust lift. Interestingly, there's still atmosphere up that high, just not enough for some craft to fly that high. I've made some spy planes that fly even higher but they use hydrogen as an engine and still rely on the Takeshi Plane Parts to stay in the air. I really wish Keen would add plane wings as a vanilla feature. There's a lot of physics involved with it.

yeah, actually, about that, how would we edit that script, as a lot of planets I use don't have atmospheres that go that high, so this thing just ends up shooting into space, which isn't all that helpful :D

@Tiedspy05, the carrier has a script that keeps it flying at ~3km from the ground. Its supposed to fly up as soon as you spawn it.

The carrier just goes up into space when i spawn it in, so the ship seems to have thruster overide all the way up. Fix this please

Okay. Thank you for finding those things. I would never have thought it was the blueprints. I'll update the blueprint of the carrier with the fixes. Thanks again.

Are you referring to the projection tables on the bridge and the projectors of the printer bay?

I believe a simple fix for this ship causing crashes would be to remove the fighter bp from the consoles AND the ship printer if being advertised as modless

Ok. So it's those consoles that cause the crash when building. but in order to paste the ship in and have no problems. You NEED the plane parts mod installed.
