Once a quaint rural town surrounded by uninteresting, rocky steppe and dense forest, the necessity of industrial expansion transformed Narodnyygrad into a bustling industrial metropolis. Densely packed brick residential areas provide barebones accommodation for the city's workforce, and the majority of resources are brought in by train and by boat. The sudden increase in population density necessitated that farmers squeeze the land for every kernel of grain for which it could be farmed.

A heavy industrial centre and residential blocks form a claustrophobic urban maze, surrounded by small rural villages and pockets of dense woodland which overwatch large swathes of open farmland. The nature of the terrain makes for a deadly labyrinth of chokepoints, killing fields and key strategic positions.
