Description
Fixed again but I expect lots of the new dialog etc will need tweaking to match the original edits so please report bugs in the comments

  • Ironman and achievement compatible, multiplayer friendly
  • Compatible with any mod that doesn't modify the interface or fonts
  • Compatible with VD:TGX and similar mods
  • Compatible with map font mods






Following the release of v1.29 Theatrum Orbis Terrarum no longer worked, the original author had not updated it. I have never made a mod for EU4 before, so it may not be perfect but it no longer crashes and I thought Kyro is bound to update soon with a better fix than this, Even more mods from the collection broke with the v1.30 update, so I fixed them also and decided to put the whole collection online, even the working ones just incase the original author never returns or the download is removed etc.

This mod is in my must have list for EU4, So i'm very grateful Kyro provided this mod collection and glad it carries on. I hope the original author does not mind, and I hope the community can benefit

Theatrum Orbis Terrarum translates to "Theatre of the World" and is considered to be the first true modern atlas. It was created in 1570 by flemish cartographer Abraham Ortelius. This mod tries to bring its look and feel to Europa Universalis IV.

Works with EU4 1.31.* - Versions for playing older games of EU4 are available on the GitHub[github.com] Page




Features:

Borders, seamless terrain textures, recolored trees, recolored rivers, unique fog of war, pause banner, map font, Interface fonts, Terra Incognita with pictures from the actual atlas, trade routes and arrows, slim occupation lines, straits, unreachable trade nodes checkers, dark unit shields, shield and flag overlay, great power symbols and shields, movement arrows, selected unit indicator, fort symbols map lighting, water, dynamic transparency for colored map modes and some other things
Extremely customizable
Improves performance

This is a complete overhaul of the map, the GUI and many other things. Therefore any other mod that modifies the map, the GUI or water is NOT compatible.

Notes:

Turning off Post Effects in the option menu will lead to a slightly different look. (a bit darker, no season effects, even less shadows)
You can turn off the trees in in the option menu

The Extra Addons:

Opacity Add-Ons (pick one)

Add-On: More Opacity
Makes the mapmodes a bit more colorful and reduces dynamic transparency.

Add-On: Medium Opacity
Makes the mapmodes more colorful and has just a little dynamic transparency. (more colorful than "More Opacity" but less colorful than "Even More Opacity")

Add-On: Even More Opacity
Makes the mapmodes much more colorful and has almost no dynamic transparency.



Water Add-Ons (pick either none, Blue or Deep Blue - "Dark water" darkens any of the three water colors)

Add-On: Blue Water
Changes the water to light blue.

Add-On: Deep Blue Water
Changes the water to deep blue.

Add-On: Dark Water
Turns the water dark. Can be combined with other water Add-Ons.



Other Add-Ons (can be used in any combination)

Add-On: Dark Borders
Dark country borders. Contains 9 different country border styles to choose from.

Add-On: Dynamic Borders
Province borders, state borders and sea borders fade out when zooming out. Country borders become more visible and dark when zooming out.

Add-On: Warm Colors
Slightly warmer color temperature

If you want to use this mod with a Random New World, you'll need to install the RNW Add-On. (disables achievements)

Subscribe to this for a completely flat map. (disables achievements)

I've noticed an issue where the preview branching missions buttons are no longer showing upon activating this mod along with its addons. I'm using the basic interface fonts if that helps.

It is a shame, The ET Compatibility Page has been updated showing which addons wont work.

Unfortunately ET adds so much more content to the interface, it cannot be compatible with this addon. That was the cause of the CTD. It would take a seperate mod and be alot of work to keep up with ET developments etc.. Perhaps you could ask them about creating font mods for ET.

Very nice to hear that you will try to fix it.
For ET never being tested with TOT and its addons I must say this is the first time i experienced a CTD because of it. I have played with ET and Kyro's original version of TOT and its addons for years. The only addon that caused problems from time to time was Flat Map but never any others.

Extended Timeline was never tested with many of the addon mods (far too eager to release it ha!) but I will try and have a play with them later and see if I can improve on it.

Placing the ET Patch at the bottom sadly changed nothing. I tested a bit more with the font mod and noticed that it could be a problem on ET's side. It works normal with only TOT in vanilla. But TOT Fonts and ET results in a CTD. Not sure if you can fix this at your side or if it has to be done by the ET Author.

OK I will look into the CTD as that must have slipped past me! The Extended Timeline Patch can be fussy with the other mods as you describe, have you tried placing it at the bottom of the list?
