Description
SKYRIM CITY-STATE, TOWNS AND VILLAGES FROM THE END OF THE 3RD ERA.

NO DLC’S REQUIRED, LATEST UPDATE REQUIRED!

DESCRIPTION

Did Bethesda leave any evidence about the city-state, towns and villages of the 3rd era, that existed in 3E 399, but have since then vanished? I think Bethesda did, expecting modders to want to rebuild those from The Elder Scrolls Chapter 1: Arena! Scattered around Skyrim you will find small amounts of Nordic rubble, that shouldn’t be there, just because there is no building around where it could have came from.

Several months ago I started a new mod rebuilding those towns and villages from the past, but once I had built some of the villages, some other modders, like ThirteenOranges and Kaefie, beat me to it! So, I took a different approach. I started playing Arena again, however, only in the province of Skyrim, to find those old places. Thanks to Bethesda and thanks to the Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages I think I did! The UESP interactive map of Skyrim is highly detailed and soon provided me with the possible locations of those old towns and villages.

At the moment this mod is quite simple only providing the locations, sometimes adding a little more rubble to give the site a more proper ruinlike looks. Sometimes there was already enough rubble, that placing a mapmarker was more than enough. On the safe in the Arch-Mage’s Quarters you will find the Arch-Mage’s journal describing his search for those lost cities, towns and villages. I plan to extend this mod in the future, but at the moment I have no idea how. I have to play Arena more to find out all about those towns and villages and their surroundings. I have really forgotten all about it over the years!

The province of Skyrim used to consist of 32 city-states, towns and villages, 9 of which still exist in present day Skyrim, Labyrinthian and the Fortress of Ice excluded.

CITY-STATE: Snowhawk
TOWNS: Amol, Granite Hall, Karthwasten Hall, Oakwood, Stonehills, Sunguard, Vernim Wood
VILLAGES: Amber Guard, Black Moor, Dragon Wood, Dunpar Wall, Dunstad Grove, Greenwall, Helarchen Creek, Lainalten, Laintar Dale, Markarth Side, Neugrad Watch, Nimalten City, North Keep, Pargran Village, Reich Corigate

LOCATIONS

Amol: slightly to the west of Snowveil Sanctum
Amber Guard: between Broken Tower Redoubt and Rebel’s Cairn
Black Moor: southeast of Sleeping Tree Camp
Dragon Wood: to the right side of the path leading from Braidwood Inn to the dragon mound
Dunpar Wall: near the Red Road Pass giant camp
Dunstad Grove: northwest of Morthal, west of the mill
Granite Hall: west of Sunderstone Gorge
Greenwall: west of Fort Greenwall
Helarchen Creek: south of Nightgate Inn, along the shore of Lake Yorgrim
Karthwasten Hall: near Four Skull Lookout
Lainalten: northnortheast of Gjukar’s Monument
Laintar Dale: slightly to the west of Korvanjund
Markarth Side: between Dragon Bridge and Bruca’s Leap Redoubt, along the river
Neugrad Watch: east of Halfmoon Mill, along the shore of Lake Ilinalta
Nimalten City: north of Ivarstead
North Keep: between Moss Mother Cavern and Lake Ilinalta
Oakwood: just outside North Brittleshin Pass
Pargran Village: near the bridge from Fort Amol to Darkwater Crossing
Reich Corigate: north of Mistwatch (the skeleton invested ruins)
Snowhawk: pretty close to the word wall of Dragontooth Crater
Stonehills: west of Stonehills mine
Sunguard: close to Angarvunde
Vernim Wood: on top of Ansilvund

These are, what I think, the correct locations of the old vanished city, towns and villages of the end of the 3rd era. My evidence is described in the journal of the arch-mage. Do you have better evidence? Let me know!

Not yet. I have to check all tablets on the monuments first as I don't want a tablet mentioning the wrong settlement.

Any updates on your "Skyrim's Lost Settlements" release on AFKMods?

Probably not if you stick to houses (static objects in general), NPCs and their AI Packages, Factions, etc.. But, if you want to add quests, you most probably can't do without code, because you want quests to progress.

I'm doing tutorials right now, I plan on making bigger cities, will i need to code?

It might also be a good idea to become a member of the CK Public Group and maybe my guide Creation Kit: Good Practices , so we can keep this thread for mod related posts.

Sometime you don't, sometime you do. That totally depends on the mod you want to create. It would be a good idea to take your first steps on the Unofficial Elders Scrolls Pages - CK Tutorials [ck.uesp.net].

Shalidor's Legacy (with REAL labyrinths), a spriggan follower, a port and remake of Courting & Marriage, Secure Chests (like in Enderal)
