Hi same mod just for whatever reason couldn't update the old one so here is the new one with update everything:

Hey its my first mod and i did a ton of research on this. and tried to get as close as i could get to the time era by using different accurate sources as well as my own experience (I am an archer). the only way to truely know what happened is by being there... and as i cant do that i can only use the research i have found and my on knowledge


archer ammo is 60

Crossbow ammo is 25

Longbow range is 180 (i know in history the effective range was 200-220 meters however we are talking 800ish ad longbowmen not 1500AD longbowmen where longbows had a higher poundage and was practising since Youth)

Crossbow range reduced to 100 but accuracy and damage significantly improved (due to the short distance and the armour piercing they would of had)

Crossbow reload speed therefore slowed

Archer speed sped up to the average shot per min of 12

and a few other extras


please give me feedback i will look through and analyse every single one.


Trying to make archers as realistic as possible.


UPDATE : Javelins

Disclaimer:

Finding historical facts about javelins and the men who carried them was very hard but i know understand what they were actually used for... They were mainly used for disrupting shield walls so that is what ive done in this mod

Javelinmen Reload speed is 6 per min

Javelin damage is increase significantly for the ability to disrupt shield walls and really be a pain on the field

Range is set at 50

Ammo is at 7 due to the high damage you can do to units not in a shield wall plus you cant hold any more javelins without it being an issue on the battlefield.

Javelinmen general speed upped from 3.75/4 to 4/5

Javelinmen should be used mainly for disrupting shieldwalls, cav and counter archers if you can get in close.

Please give me feedback on these updates to the units ive watch many videos on javelins and what they do to chainmail and normal cloth armor and researched many things about them from factal websites so if you can prove to me that what i have in the mod is unrealistic i will take it out..


Update 18/06/2020 Cav Javelinmen

Have updated these units to have the same damage of javelinmen but much lower ammo (5) the balance works quite well as these units still cause a lot of damage after the javelins are thrown by charging into enemies as the charge bonus has been increased but its still no where near the melee cav charge bonuses. range is also set at 50.


Would like to thank SnapAndShootStreams for the constant back and forth we had researching about javlins,skirmishers and damages towards javelins. i was completely out of my depth in this field and he helped alot to get the right stuff.

Could this mod work for current save files? When I subscribe, the ammo stat for my Longbowmen is still at 19.

in what way? as the stats when you are selecting units says the archers speed is 6000 but its not.
