New York Central Waterlevel Route

Description
This layout is a selectively compressed representation of the New York Central mainline between New York City and Buffalo NY. Trains start from a common staging yard that represents both Chicago and Grand Central Terminal. Because New York banned steam and diesel locomotives from the city limits, the New York Central used 3rd rail electric engines between Grand Central Terminal and Harmon NY, where the electric engines were swapped for steam or diesel power. From Harmon, the trains continued northbound along the Hudson river to the state capital of Albany, where the tracks diverged westbound and followed the Erie Canal all the way across New York state to Buffalo, NY.

OPERATIONS:
This layout is intended for looping point-to-point passenger operations. Trains start in Chicago-Grand Central Terminal Staging and leave either going towards Buffalo with steam (or diesel) power (Eastbound) or leave with electric power and go towards New York City and Harmon. In both cases, trains make the appropriate passenger stops and swap locomotives in Harmon. Steam (or diesel) is replaced with electric power going into New York, and electric is swapped with steam (or diesel) coming out of New York.

The layout's mainline is in fact a loop, so trains can be left to run continuously. It's not prototypical to do so but you're the one with the remote, you run the layout the way you want!

There are some opportunities for freight on the layout as well, you can switch Buffalo Outer Harbor, or run freight trains between the yards in Harmon and Rochester.

QUICK MODS and CUSTOM LIVERIES:
Three custom liveries were used, as well as 2 quickmods, they are listed on the right side of your screen.

The layout uses one QuickMod pack that has't been moved yet.

Questions? Comments? Problems with the layout? Let me know!

Layout Updated 6/20/2020 to correct an issue with the tracks in the staging yard that could cause trains to sideswipe each other.

Fleegele very sorry for this but can you make it really realistic and make it like the real route for the trains in the 20th centenary

I never actually found that T-Motor. It may have been distributed on a discord server somewhere, but I don't know where.

Also, I'm guessing its the same situation for the T motor I've seen in screenshots?

I have spoken to the creator of the S2 about putting the mod on the workshop but he says he wants to re-do it before that happens.

I searched around for a while and the original S2 file seems to be gone completely from the internet as far as I can tell.
