How to Use
To insert the desired piece into your creations, First delete everything on the tray of wedges except the block you would like to Use. Then, save this individual block as a new file. Then, load in the vehicle or creation you would like to add it to, at the top of the page click “Selection Grid” and then “Load Content”. Select the individual block (the specific block you just saved) which will allow you to make adjustments and add it into the creation as you wish. For people who have never used the selection grid before it should also be noted that you can move it around as you wish by clicking the normal Rotation commands which are [J], [K] , and [L]. If you are having trouble getting it to fit it may be backwards, click [I] to mirror the selection. When it has been positioned into place, select “Paste”. Then, at the top of your screen click “Merge” and merge the block onto the rest of your creation. It may be more difficult to merge these blocks than a normal one due to their odd hitboxes. If necessary, keep one block attached to the wedge while you copy it over so you can click this block when merging it.

Disclaimers
xml editing isn’t something condoned by the game devs so if this decides to break your game at all for whatever reason, it is what it is. Most likely you will be fine. The physics on these will be very glitchy and may not function like you would expect it to, this is because the different components have different physics meshes and they will get messed up when the shape and size are skewed. You are able to place objects through them in the editor and step through them when spawned in as well. Don’t use these for surfaces on which people or vehicles will be walking or driving on because they will not function like you would expect them to. BEFORE COMMENTING please read by explanation about the infamous 8 length wedges:

Alright a lot of people have been asking for me to make an 8 length wedge but this is NOT possible. See my explanation below:
since these xml wedges are just stretched out versions of regular wedges, if you expand them in certain ways (notably by changing the size parameter in the xml editor by any even number) you will end up with a part where the two ends are misaligned and they can't be used on ordinary stormworks creations.
How the xml editing works is the initial length, height, etc. is multiplied by the value you enter for that parameter. While all other sizes have potential values you can multiply by 3 or 5 or 1 to get values that work and align properly, 8 does not.
For example,
  • to get a 7x1 wedge, we can multiply the 1x1 wedge's length factor by 7.
  • to get a 12x1 wedge, we can multiply the 4x1 wedge's length factor by 3.
  • to get a 6x1 wedge, we can multiply the 2x1 wedge's length factor by 3.
All of these wedges will still align properly because we are multiplying them by odd numbers.
But in the case of a 8x1 wedge, there are no odd numbers we can multiply to get this length, no matter what size of default wedge we use. If we were to multiply the 4x1 wedge by 2, we would end up with a 8x1 wedge that's offset and misaligned (by 50%) from all the other stormworks blocks. This is because this multiplication takes place by adding 50% of the total added length on EACH side of the wedge, so each side is increased by only half, and therefore the ends of the part will not align with other parts. Even multiplying by 4, the total size will
be increased by one and half. This extra half added is why even numbers will never work to multiply by to get a functional part. Unfortunately we can't use decimals either because decimals would also leave the parts misaligned, and the game doesn't read decimals anyway.
So therefore, the only way to get a 8 length wedge would be to make your own modded pieces that are 8 length (by default) and import them into the game. OR you could just deal with having a misaligned wedge, but imo that looks stupid and there are better alternatives.
I apologize for the inconvenience.

Fair Use
Use this for whatever creations you need. I would appreciate credit but not really necessary.

Thanks

I dont know what is going on in the dev head but wedges are like the most basic thing and he did not even think that a 1x3 wedge would be a good idea

No they do not. there are ways to get around this by building blocks behind them or inside them but you will have to be careful
