三亚市，是海南省地级市，简称崖，古称崖州，别称鹿城，地处海南岛的最南端。三亚东邻陵水县，西接乐东县，北毗保亭县，南临南海，介于北纬18°09′34″~18°37′27″、东经108°56′30″~109°48′28″之间。 [1] 三亚市陆地总面积1919.58平方千米，海域总面积6000平方千米。东西长91.6千米，南北宽51公里，下辖四个区。 [2] 2018年，全市年末户籍人口614647人，聚居了汉族、黎族、苗族等20多个民族。 [3]
三亚是具有热带海滨风景特色的国际旅游城市 [4] ，又被称为“东方夏威夷”。 [5] 2016年6月14日，中国科学院对外发布《中国宜居城市研究报告》，三亚宜居指数在全国40个城市中位居第三。 [6] 2016年9月，三亚入选“中国地级市民生发展100强。 [7] 2017年2月，三亚入选第三批国家低碳城市试点之一。三亚也是同时入选中国特色魅力城市200强及世界特色魅力城市200强。

Sanya City is a prefecture level city of Hainan Province. It is called Yazhou in ancient times and Lucheng in other words. It is located at the southernmost end of Hainan Island. Sanya is adjacent to Lingshui County in the East, Ledong County in the west, Baoting County in the north, South China Sea in the south, between 18 ° 09 ′ 34 ″ ~ 18 ° 37 ′ 27 ″ north latitude and 108 ° 56 ′ 30 ″ ~ 109 ° 48 ′ 28 ″ east longitude. Sanya is an international tourist city with tropical seaside scenery [4], also known as "Oriental Hawaii". [5] On June 14, 2016, the Chinese Academy of Sciences released the Research Report on livable cities in China, and Sanya livable index ranked the third among 40 cities in China. [6] In September 2016, Sanya was selected as one of the top 100 prefecture level cities in China in terms of people's livelihood development. [7] In February 2017, Sanya was selected as one of the third batch of national low carbon city pilots. Sanya is also among the top 200 cities with Chinese characteristics and the top 200 cities with world characteristics.

In 2019, Sanya's GDP is 67.786 billion yuan. [8]

In 2017, the comprehensive well-off index of prefecture level cities in China ranked No. 50 [9]. In December 2018, it was selected as the 15th best tourist destination city in China in 2018. [10-11] on December 13, 2018, it was selected into the list of agricultural products with Chinese characteristics. [12] Sanya is a pilot city of "no waste city". [13] On October 23, 2019, it was identified as "the third batch of demonstration cities for black and odorous water treatment". [14] From the end of November to the beginning of December 2020, the Sixth Asian Beach Games will be held in Sanya, Hainan Province.
