Description
Improves the lackluster Thing's trinkets while keeping the theme of the attributes of the boss.

Because let's face it the vanilla Thing's trinkets were trash.
Like 50% of the vanilla common trinkets were better than the Thing's trinkets.
Considering how much rarer and hard they are to acquire it felt wrong to me.

So i went on the workshop for a fix........

but found none.......

So i went ahead and fixed it myself.

- Prismatic Heart Crystal:
I went for Bleed/Blight resist considering how it heals any dot with ''Return to the stars''. The debuff resist represent just how useless debuffing a multiple action boss is. The disease resist represent the beast innate immunity to it's ''sky taint''.

-Thing's Crystalline Fang :
I wanted to emulate it's ''Phase Gnaw'' attack that has armor piercing and blight. The + % damage is in loving memory of all my heroes that got put on death door by ''Vopral Strike''.

-Thing's Phase Shifthing Hide:
I wanted to represent its insane 80% PROT, so i gave it some HP and PROT to note the beast's tankiness. I also went for damage reflexion to emulate the Thing's body parts exploding with ''Explosive Undoing'' or ''Unstable Resonance'' on some unfortunate soul.

-Thing's Mesmerizing Eye:
I went for the ACC + CRIT because it fits the theme of an eye trinket well. The stealth is for all the vestal/ Antiquairian that got the ''Twilight Dreamer'' quirk rather than a damage dealing class. The scouting bonus is because the Thing is the only boss that you can ...SCOUT... on your Embark screen before starting the mission, giving you a chance to prepare for the fight. So the scouting bonus was quite fitting indeed.


If you have any suggestions of powers for the trinkets that more in line with the game lore and/or more in line with the boss aesthetic, feel free to leave a suggestion.

The trinkets are balanced with a modded playtrough in mind.

@Hangman2411 it's because the 'fang' trinket uses a buff that is taken from one of the shieldbreaker's camping skills. You could go into the mod yourself and change that effect, and it'd probably work just fine.

Hey, uh, why is the shieldbreaker dlc necessary for this mod? And will it affect playability if i don't have it?

About the fang, is the armor piercing 15 or 20 percent? The code of the mod references the shieldbreaker's camping skill, which says it's 15%, but the mod text says 20%.

These are definitely pretty broken, but you know what?

They damn well should be.

CoM trinkets are all huge pains in the ass to get with only a select few even approaching viability, with this being very, very much the case for the Thing trinkets.

I love these trinkets. They are hard to acquire but they have superior effects. I'd be super happy if you could redo Crimson Curse bosses trinkets in similar way ;))
