@Kit Ty ah. one of those. sorry im not a programmer. but I am interested to learn about some of that stuff

It's possible to just overlap the files with a new additional <textureChoices></textureChoices> in clothingitem and IconsForTexture = tex1;tex2, in the specific item.txt, so both textures will load randomly in the game, with respective icons (if you make them), without the need to make it custom.
That's how vanilla shirts and other items with texture variants works xD but don't mind if it's a little hassle. I've been using the military backpack black, not really a fan of camo :x lel
