Danish Village Church

This church is based on various Danish churches that can be found in many villages all over the Danish countryside. It can be used as a small church for a small village, with a graveyard around it, or it can be used a a city church where it it just placed alongside the road.

This type of church have been built in Denmark since 1080 and a few centuries forward. Many of them are still in use today.

The church here contains various historical themes. Boulders as the base, which is the oldest type of building material used for these churches. Shortly after craved bricks from boulders began to be used instead, which is the brown/grey type of stone used on the central building, and finally the white bricks which is the type of bricks we know and is more or less still in use today although the way to produce them have been made better and easier. But these types of bricks have on many Danish churches of this time, been painted white with chalk. So the white part of the church is the newest.
Also notice that there are a few windows in the central building that have been blocked by the newer white painted bricks.
