Description
”Axel chuckled. ‘No, my ship barely has guns on her.’ He made a showy gesture toward a flat, yellow-painted ship with an offset cockpit flanking a broad, open door to what looked like a cargo hold. Through the opening Hjalm could see a pair of stocky utility craft, commonly used to move heavy objects. ‘The Roquette can do some heavy lifting though,’ Axel said cheerfully, ‘even in an atmosphere—but she’s no fighter.’”
-From The Fleet Beyond Neptune

The Roquette is an HEV-2 auxiliary ship capable of transporting equipment and materiel between space and a planet’s surface. She carries Pioneers – the combat engineers of the Alliance who specializes in tasks such as salvaging, demolition, construction, and the capture and later repurposing of enemy equipment.

Her attached large container gives her a reasonable cargo capacity and can carry additional equipment by locking them onto her exterior hull. She carriers two small craft that can weld, grind down or move objects. These are hydrogen-powered, and although they can operate in an atmosphere they will rapidly run out of hydrogen unless frequently refuelled.

Thank you, I think asymmetry often adds an industrial machinery look to ships.

Very nice. And agreed, I gotta give asymmetry a go.

I enjoy asymmetric aircraft so I'm definitely going to have to give this a try.
