Police Patrol Spacecraft T-700-LE

Small Police-themed spacecraft.

front mounted weapons:
- Two anti-shield beam cannons
turret weapons:
- triple blaster laser gatling gun mounted on top turret, alternating fire, increased hull damage.

Switch configuration (in the cockpit):

Left side:
Top: reactors on/off
Mid: thrusters on/off (hotkey 4)
Low: open/close engine hoods

Right side:
Top: open/close cockpit (hotkey 3)
Mid: front lights on/off (hotkey 2)
Low: flashing police lights (blue+red) on/off (hotkey 1)

Note for use:
The ship is able to fire it's turret cannons almost constantly with only a little heat buildup.
Switching off most thrusters with hotkey 4 allows for constant turret fire without building heat.
The two front beam cannons cause some heat buildup and are primarily for disabling shields. Constant turret fire will keep a target's shields down, once disabled.

the intention is to first down a target's shield with the twin beam cannons, then cripple its vital systems with the gatling turret. If it cannot move and cannot shoot back, you can enter turret mode: Lower landing gear (G) and turn thrusters off (hotkey 4). With deactivated thrusters, there is enough energy for the turret to fire constantly, and still recharge things.

This craft is a spaceship-conversion from the hovercraft and does work nicely.

One of our head engineers here at Terminal Industries said: "This little hovercraft we made for the police after that space pirate incident with these turreted hover scooters, completely consists of spaceship parts. If we seal the cockpit and add some basic life support, and then exchange some of the main thrusters with an FTL capable engine, it'll do just fine in space."
Of course the guys at marketing didn't believe it, and so it came to a bet: If this craft becomes spaceworthy within two months, our marketing devision chief would pay engineering a three days bowling vacation at the Taurus Vacation Center on proxima three.
And after just a few weeks of modifications, our prototype left the atmosphere, engaged it's FTL drive and boosted itself all the way to the proxima system. We later revcovered the prototype by digging it out of a pile of empty beer cans.

Shielding and weapons make this little spaceship an optimal craft for space law enforcement and local militias. It has no cargo space besides that under the pilot seat, so it won't be used by space pirates either.
The weapons systems and reactors are the same reliable spaceship-grade types used in the T-70S Law Enforcement hovercraft series, and so is the cockpit. Even the controls are stunningly similar, so every capable officer that drove a T-70S before can now extend his or her operation radius into the whole solar system after just a quick browse through the manual.
