Based on the BMD-2 Airborne Infantry Fighting Vehicle. Description provided by client.
While the badger wasn’t really an APC, since it couldn’t carry a full section, nor a main battle tank, since it’s armor and armament was light, this vehicle was a hybrid, taking advantages from both platforms. The vehicle was born from a necessity to give Arizona a way to deal with Texas’ massive infantry numbers. The Badger can carry a section of six infantry including the commander, one driver and one gunner, for a total of 8 personnel. While a revolutionary vehicle in its own right, it did come with some major flaws. It’s diminutive size meant that the section being transported couldn’t all fit in the rear. With two having to disembark from the bow of the vehicle, making them easy targets to pick off. More than 400 after action reports taken concluded soldiers exiting from the bow of these IFVs had the worst survivability chances at 61%. Another issue was the the vehicle can only support 3 men in the rear meaning that one man had no seat, and would be bouncing around in the rear cockpit, after action reports concluded that soldiers without a seat could sustain minor abrasions, to the worst being serval broken ribs. Later models would include an extended seat adapter to remedy this issue. However it’s small size couldn’t be changed due to Arizona’s doctrine which wanted a Vehicle to fight with infantry and be able to traverse through the rocky mountainous terrain of Northern Arizona.
