Old Gotham Bay, NJ

Description

Gotham Bay, NJ

Gotham Bay is situated in the State of New Jersey, slightly to the north of Atlantic City on the eastern seaboard. The five main Gotham Islands sit at the head of Gotham Bay where it is feed by the Mullica River and springs flowing from the beneath the Gotham Hills extensive cave system. The Gotham Islands were first sited by Europeans in 1635 by Captain Jon Logerquist sailing on behalf of the Dutch. In 1665 the lands came under British control. Following the American War of Independence Anthony Wayne purchased the area and it remained under Wayne family control until the Great Recession of 2008. Wayne Enterprises entered into an agreement with the State of New Jersey to sell the land as a new city to make up for extensive loses the company rightfully received during the financial crisis. The environmental impact studies are now complete, and Gotham Bay is now ready to serve as America’s next great city on the Atlantic seaboard…

Developer's Notes

This is the latest and definitive version of my Gotham Bay map. I've uploaded a couple previous versions of this map but was never really happy with it. However, I'm finally happy with this version. Admittedly, these Gotham Islands are bigger in this version than most but Gotham is supposed to be a metropolis so I wanted to give this map a New York feel. I recommend you use an 81 tile mod in order to use the full map, but you can play this map without it.

This map uses my custom Garden State Theme which you can get using the afore mentioned link.

This map also uses the following custom tree assets:

Additionally, please feel free to check out other maps:

Thanks PeteDiddy4142! Hope you like it and please feel free to post a link to the resultant city if you like. Just an FYI but I am working on a new version of this map. This map will remain but some people have noted the Gotham Islands are too big and after a couple of play throughs I kind of agree, though this map is a nice approximation of New York in my opinion. The new map zooms out a little. I used Terrain Party to review the area in real life and then designed the map around that. A copy of the heat map has been added to the end of the above slide show. If Best Buy ever returns my laptop I will finish and upload it! :steammocking:

Bravo from South Jersey as well. I'm totally gonna check this out.

If I remember correctly, there are 2 theories. The Delaware Bay is Gotham Bay, (Due to Metropolis being South of Wilmington DE.) Meaning that downtown Gotham should be like... Bridgeton. (I'm from Millville so I guess that makes me in the East End/Crime Alley... fitting.) and the Batcave is in EHT/Pomona Area.

The 2nd theory is that AC Proper is Gotham and the back bay is Gotham Bay, but Metropolis is still South of Wilmington.

Either way, great work. I'm impressed.

Your News Dude... but of course! I took some license with the side show because it's BASED on Gotham... and it worked since it got your attention. Yet worry not... it's even more goofy than that because the inclusion of the moon was intentional too... :steammocking:
