A39 Tortoise

The A39 "Tortoise" was a WWII British assault tank prototype sporting extremely heavy armour and a superbly effective 94mm QF 32pdr gun, in trials the tank proved to be a capable gun platform but due to changing army doctrines and a switch in the wars pace the need for the tank diminished and it was abandoned. The tank was had was capable of equal speed in both forward and reverse to its 12 gears with 6 forward and reverse, although it weighed 79 tonnes it's 650hp Rolls Royce meteor gave it enough adequate all terrain performance albeit with a poor top speed.

This remake fixes a number of inaccuracies and missing details from my original build although it unfortunately retains the lack of main gun traverse.
