Like with these glowsticks in Steam Workshop resource pack form, back then I remember that I couldn't get both Glowsticks & Headbanging Dragon to work, because both technically and rightfully changes sprites for Dragons in their entirety.
If the glowsticks were more about turning enemies into looking like their silhouettes (as if they have no exposure to lighting) and then add the glowsticks as an extra, overlaid particle effect on the entity, I think it could work wonders in allowing this to be cross-used with other graphical mods for entities
