Corrupt: Act 2

Description
This map involves water, gel, momentum, lasers, mixed-themes, and unpaintable walls!
This map was more of a way for me to teach myself Hammer, and as such isn't actually much of a test chamber, but it's still a nice and short exploration map.

GLaDOS also says: "you will be baked, and then there will be cake" and never directly says that you will be given the cake. And when she tells you to go back, there is no truth or lie about it, she wants you to go back to the testing chambers.

Ok, I did not play the other chambers in this series... or did I?
I most certainly always believe GLaDOS's technical advice, I do not litsen to or believe her other comments. I did not hear any GLaDOS lines in this chamber.

Also reffering to this: "Did you listen to GLaDOS when she told you to stay on the platform in temperatures above 5000* kelvin?" SHe said that the equiptment could withstand those temperatures, not human flesh.

Thanks for your feedback. I had forgotten this fact, and simply tried to impliment an element that community maps had not used commonly before.

Umm... DIdn't GLaDOS say that you should NEVER submerge the device in liquid? If the portalgun indeed has a black hole inside of it the water would be sucked up and larger and larger ammounts of the universe would come together ending the entire world. So yeah, That I just found kind of off. I don't know, I find that unrealistic.

That's a really good interpretation! Unfortunately, I probably won't make it as annoying to complete a simple task in the future. Everyone still plays Portal for the entertainment value, of course!

I'll keep these ideas in mind in future maps. I may just have enough free time to work on a project tomorrow...

You know... what's really awesome about the map is that it can really immerse you in a realistic way (if you let it). You're in that room and you must get up to the catwalk. In real life there aren't always easy paths either - you have to really work to get to your goal! That room doesn't feel like a video game map but rather like a realistic scenario. After that there's a door which is half open and in order to get through it, you have to crawl - only then can you get through it slowly. Those are elements I really like! They give the player a strong feeling of having achieved something, too. (Which... to be honest... isn't terribly common in the "mapping community", if you ask me.)

You're welcome! I really hope you'll make an Act 3 someday, too! ;)

Wow! Thanks! I'm really sorry that the map wasn't what it could have been, I lost the files for it a long time ago and was too lazy to recreate it from scratch. This was also my first large-scale hammer project, so many objects could have been set up better.

However, it's great to hear that someone enjoyed this map so much! This was also my first map to have been 'Let's Played' by a member of the community, and that player didn't like it much. :P

I'm rambling again, but again, thanks! It's encouragement from people like you who keep me making maps like this!
