Bulgaria has a wide selection of weapons which we don't find often , like the bulgarian ak47 I have , it's shitty but wonderful to have one

Half life 2 does take place in Ukraine or around the area, rebels would likely have access to Russian or Soviet military gear. Kind of makes sense
