Part of the Mas Oyama legend was the unearthly power of his overhand chops, which he was said to have honed by crushing rocks. A famous demonstration of Oyama was to fight a bull with his bare hands, and to chop its horn off with a chop, and while the mythology surrounding those exhibitions was undoubtedly exaggurated, there is little doubt that he could channel legitimate force into his signature chop.
