Custom Turret Builder IV - SR

THIS IS THE SAME MODE AS CUSTOM TURRET BUILDER IV EXCEPT WITH A SLIGHTLY SMALLER RESOLUTION. The "regular" mod is 1600 x 900. This mod is 1560 x 800. For those playing with smaller resolutions, I am hoping this change will resolve the problem accessing the buttons at the bottom of the mod window.

If you do not need a smaller resolution mod, then I STRONGLY RECOMMEND you use the "regular mod" here:

The "regular" mod anticipates a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080. DO NOT USE BOTH MODS SIMULTANEOUSLY!

FINALLY, for anyone using the mod on resolution smaller than 1920 x 1080, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THE SMALLER RESOLUTION IS HELPFUL.

To Do List: (1) add option to deduct cost of turret; (2) add mining turrets; (3) add ability to name turrets generated from saved designs / inventory; (4) update Custom Torpedo Builder & Custom Fighter Builder mods.

Update (07/30/2020) - Fixed major bug in generating saved turret designs. Also fixed minor bug with defensive turrets not always having auto target feature.

Finally! The coup de grace of the Custom Turret Builder series. What's new? A lot...

First and foremost, I have taken a huge leap forward in understanding both lua scripting in general and the game's specific scripting API. Before these mods, I had no experience whatsoever and the last computer class I took was a class in BASIC a long, long time ago. I won't say when, but the year rhymes with Nineteen Eighty Shmeven! In any event, the scripting is much more efficient (albeit still clunky in some areas) and does a much better job of incorporating the game's existing scripting API rather than trying to simulate it. This version is really what I wanted to put together from the get-go.

You can of course design and build custom turrets from scratch. Select the basic turret info (material, rarity, turret type, etc...) and generate the turret. You can then customize just about every customizeable value associate with the turret type.

You can save your custom designs and use them to build custom turrets at a later point in time. Of course you can select a saved design and customize it further making an entirely new custom design. Every time a new custom turret is built, the design will be saved (you can delete the design later if you want).

Also, a completely NEW feature! You can select ANY turret from your existing inventory - whether or not the inventory turret was previously made by you. You can select any turret in your inventory and then customize that turret to make an entirely new design. The new design will be saved in your saved designs file.

The entire modification process takes place in a single window rather than having to switch between tabs (as in previous versions).

Finally, each custom mod is given a price based upon the games pricing script. Many users have previously asked for a feature where the player is "charged" for the custom turret. At this point, the mod only shows the turret price but in the very near future, I will add the option to charge the player for the custom turret (if the player has enough credits).

And yes, I WILL add mining lasers. This is another oft-requested feature. After I work out the bugs and pricing, I will then get to the mining lasers.

There will be bugs! Please let me know when you find them, and I will fix them as soon as I can. With that said, this hopefully should be the FINAL version of this mod.

In the near future, I will update my torpedo builder and fighter builder mods with my new found lua scripting knowledge and hopefully make those mods more user-friendly and complete the set!!!!
