Azure Pinion LRDIP

While the LR variant was capable of fastastic top speeds, its energy consumption while doing so means that it cannot cruise at its top speed for long periods of time. The Long Range Disposable Insertion Pod was created to fit beneath an Azure Pinion fighter and allow it to cruise at even faster speeds than achievable on the LR or LRB, and for extended periods of time. Even the power plant of the Azure Pinion was unable to supply enough for the massive engines, so a generator was placed inside the pod. The Disposable element was later discarded as it was decided that it was too expensive a piece of equipment to simply throw away. As such, once detached, the LRDIP is capable of returning to base using an Autopilot function.
