KSE Peregrine Compact Fighter

Designed to fit easily in nearly any hangar, the Kadzarian Systems Engineering Peregrine Compact Fighter is only about nearly 8 meters wide by 5 meters tall by 13 meters long. But in that small size, it packs a lot of performance.

Part of that performance is twin heavy laser cannons, engineered to never overheat or overdraw power in normal operation. Such a thing isn't guaranteed for all fighters on the market, but, for KSE, it's basically standard.

To aid in visibility, the ship is operated from a seating pod situated between top and bottom mounted viewscreens, which split open and close to allow the pod to extend forward or retract. This makes boarding under tight ceilings a simple procedure, and, because of its built-in fold-down ladder, no external boarding equipment is necessary, which means that, much like the KSE Harlequin Fighter, the Peregrine can easily operate out of improvised airstrips. And with its wide landing skids, it can land on nearly any terrain.

Much like its namesake, the Peregrine relies mostly on speed to make quick, lethal strikes. And, though it may not have the best shields around, its speed and maneuverability, combined with its small size, mean this fighter can make it through tough scrapes with only minor scratches. This, along with its fast lightcruise speed, mean it’s well suited for hit-and-run tactics.

If you need to perform any maintenance or upgrades to the ship’s control systems, much like all KSE designs, it comes equipped with convenient logic racks, which are located at the top of the ship.
