Ares² Mk II

Description
Go anywhere with style and speed!

The Ares, second amphibious truck of the name, is my submission to MrNJersey Land Rescue Vehicle challenge. While it may not be as compact as its predecessor, its larger sized allowed me to pack more of feature. Its basic fonction designed for ease of use, its advanced function require a little bit more knowledge to master however. There is some small stuff and detail that could be improved, it will probably have to wait after the tournament. When Stormwork 1.0 will be out, I plan to add more functionality, such as a meterological station, radio and the upcoming hand held equipment. I may also redo the engine with the new custom ones if its worth it.

Specifications:
  • Mass: 2383kg
  • Length:7m
  • Width:3.75m
  • Height:3.25m
  • Engine: 1 aircraft engine
  • Crew: 1 Pilot
  • Passager: 11 max
  • Land Max Speed: 240km/h
  • Land Cruise Speed: 140km/h
  • Sea Max Speed: 90km/h
  • Diesel Tank: 2837 l.
  • Auxiliary Tank: 1600 l.
  • Cruise Autonomy: +800km
  • Autonomy at 175km/h: +500km

Notable feature:
  • RAIL PILOT ASSISTANT*
  • Fully automatic drivetrain and brakes
  • Automatic amphibious transition
  • Self righting mechanism
  • Advanced Battery management
  • Multi usage auxiliary tank
  • Fluid filtering system
  • Roll Cage
  • Fixed Hydrofoil
  • Water Canon
  • 20m winch
  • Robotic Arm
  • Jacks
  • Speed governor
  • Cruise control
  • Range estimator
  • Medical station
  • Bed

  • 8 waypoint AutoPilot (MrNJersey) NOT YET FUNCTIONAL
  • Radar (FN-20)

How to use:

Pretty simple to use and everything should be labeled, if not let me know. Important feature are accesible trough hotkey or button. Most of them require the engine to run to function in order to save battery.

Radar share the same screen as the Autopilot. Cruise control auto disangage when breaking (S). Cruise control will go as fast as the speed governor allow it.

Auxiliary tank contain water by default but will also accept diesel and jet fuel, but only one of them at the time. If its diesel then it can be pumped from and to the main tank, extanding the truck range beyond 1200km. Water canon is also connected to the same system and will not function if the tank do not contain water.

Rail pilot assistant isnt a autopilot, it does however allow you to follow rail track without manually steering. Note that it doesnt handle junction. Reliability will be affected by winds, loads or any external factor that I cant control.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If you try to pump another fluid than the one selected it will not contaminate the tank, but it will fill the pipe network and get stuck in it.When the pipes will only contain the undesired fluid pumping will no more be possible. If it happen to you, stop the pumping, open the vent for a second, close it and resume pumping.

Disclaimer:
7x wheels have a terrible for their size, so grip was XML edited to 1.6. Feel much more "realist" that way without being overpowered. Note that if you select them in editor it will revert the grip to 1. The truck will still work fine as it was designed with stock wheels first. However if you select only one of them by accident it will not!
