Description
Mick Foley joined the WWF in 1996 after working for WCW, ECW, and SMW. He debuted as Mankind after declining to use the gimmick's original name, Mason the Mutilator.

The character was a deranged shizophrenic who was said to live in boiler rooms. He feuded early on with The Undertaker while being managed by his "Uncle" Paul Bearer.

Mankind won over fans thanks in no small part to Foley's dedication to the gimmick and willingness to put his body on the line. He would go on to reach the top of the mountain, winning the WWF Championship for the first time in 1998.
