To elaborate, if you choose not to subscribe to the map theme, you could run the map with a vanilla theme as well, when the map will look significantly different.
If you choose not to subscribe to the tree assets, the map have no trees, as all the trees used are only the tree assets listed in the requirements.
If you choose not to subscribe to the rock assets, then the map will lack the rock detailing.
In other words, the map can be run without any mods, but the map will be pretty much just a blank piece of land.
If you're a new player playing the game without any mods, I'd really encourage you to venture into the world of mods as it brings a whole new dimension to this game
