Thank you for those beautiful words,Shadow.

P.S. I have a feeling I know who this 'flesh-eating virus' is :3

After playing an entire match against the author of the map, I will explain some of the pros and cons of this map.
To begin, the spawn is decent, with an abundance of cattle, and you are near acess to the ocean strip that is the first ">" channel, on either side respectively, from here you can develop your empire to extend across the spawning island and then further into the main island. on the smaller islands on the north and south of the main, is where there are city state spawns, at three or four city states depending upon game settings and the like. Located on the main island is an abundace of multiple types of resources that develop as your research develops, with aluminum, coal, and oil appearing in a balanced manner, while uranium is few and far between, with one source per startign island and 1 or 2 on the main or smaller N/S islands that may or may not be occupied by city states.

Should you develop a strong navy, resources in the water are sparse, however the map makes up for the lack of resources with an awesome amount of accessability to any island on all sides, which is great for rapidly expandinng empires who have developed sailing, as your empire can quickly gain needed ground forward of your spawn. From a military standpoint, once upon the main island, there is enough open ground for huge ground and air battles to take palce, and paired with the accessability posed by the water, flanking or rapid transport are very viable and should not be ignored, as the enemy may easily pass a submarine laden with nuclear weapons or guided missiles right under your eyes.
Internal Affairs 26 Jan, 2014 @ 1:53pm
However, one shortfall to this plan is that should your enemy place enough ships in the north and south passages directly befor the spawning islands, it is impossible to pass, creating a situation not unlike a chess game where two pawns are in a stalemate facing one another, waiting on the brink of war to try to annihilate each other and gain passage to whoever and whatever lay beyond. Should you discover that an enemy has gained access to the channel behind your spawn island, it is of utmost importance that you eradicate the threat as soon a spossible, for if the atomic age should fall upon you both, then all that reign and reside upon that land are at the mercy of the thick skulled meat bags aboard the vessel that is carrying the apocalypse upon its wide shoulders.

Overall, this map is a great map, designed in a balanced state that allows no one civilization too much in the beginning, however it is very possible for one to wrest control over the city states and to rapidly dominate the landscape much alike to a flesh eating virus spreading through and across a human body..
