Hit-and-run tactics have always been favored by factions who lack the numbers and firepower to confront larger rivals in direct naval combat. Such tactics are based off of fast-moving ships swooping in and unloading lethal payloads onto targets before retreating to safety. The Javelin is a fierce embodiment of this principle.
These vessels work primarily in groups either on the frontline of war or deep behind enemy lines, in both cases used to launch rapid and precise strikes at targets ranging from supply convoys to heavily fortified stations. Missiles, rockets, and torpedoes dominate its armament, their range and accuracy meaning that the Javelin can unleash a massive amount of firepower in a short time span. From there, high speeds and a large hyperspace range should be enough to get clear of enemy forces before they can muster a proper response.
