"Morituri te salutant" and welcome to the Teutoburg Forest! The Battle of the Teutoburg Forest took place in 9 AD, when an alliance of Germanic tribes ambushed and destroyed three Roman legions, led by Publius Quinctilius Varus. The opponent, the leader of the germanic alliance was called Arminius, a Roman Officer with german origins from the tribe of the Cherusker. Ambushed in unknown spooky forests, on their march over narrowed pathes to their winter quarters, the legions had no chance of surviving the ambushes. Hopefully you will find better ways to deal with this unpleasant terrain. Remember: "Festina lente!" (hasten with care), quote by Imperator Augustus (63 BC–14 AD), inventor of the Pax Romana.
