Description
Ever wanted to know who would win in a fight? The enlightened and mild-mannered upstanding men and women of Starfleet or the bloodthirsty battle-hardened species of the Homeworld universe? NOW YOU CAN FIND OUT!!!

This is a compatibility mod for Star Trek: Chronicles – 2310 and GOLIATH – Make Battlecruisers Great Again.

To play, you have to load the mods in the following order:

1. Star Trek: Chronicles – 2310

It seems like this mod would be totally easy to make, but it was actually kind of a pain in the butt. haha

My computer is pretty decent, but I have problems running more than 3 races in the same game with the video settings turned up. If things look weird or if you get an access violation, either play with fewer races in one game or try turning ‘Texture Size Limit’ down. I can play with all races in the game when that setting is turned down to 1024, which is the second from the lowest setting, but it probably depends on your computer.

I had to change a whole bunch of things in Continuum to get the balancing right. The Star Trek races could eat the Homeworld guys’ lunch the way they were, so the ship functions, weapons, build costs, tech-tree, etc. needed to be adjusted to be more like the Homeworld guys so that the game would be fun. This mod only has The Federation, but there are treaties in the research tree to get some ships from the other races too.

So I know that the ships aren’t all according to Star Trek lore and all that stuff, so there’s no need to tell me how dumb I am. Thaaanks. ;-)

Unfortunately, the shields had to go because they were messing up the AI in big games, and some of the cool effects like warping in and the names on the ships didn’t make it in yet either because I want to make sure that the mod can be played online, and I’m afraid they might cause de-syncs.

Special thanks to Nathanius for letting me use his mod and change stuff around, I get it that a mod is your baby and you wouldn’t want somebody messing around with it, especially removing stuff like the shields which were obviously a LOT of work to get working, but Nathanius is a bigger man that that. Thank you very much, my friend!

So if you’re rooting for The Federation, tighten up your girdle, polish your platform boots, and go show those uncouth barbarian scum how to behave like civilized gentlemen.

And if you’re rooting for Homeworld, get out there and make those prissy thin-wristed techno-sissies wish they never set one foot through the dimensional rift!

So, I fixed the Federation AI, but they need a Hiigaran in the game to work. (Just at the start, it should be fine if they die later.) I bet this problem was in there the whole time and I just didn't notice it because most of the time there just happened to be one in the game. Anyway, have fun!

Yeah, the Federation AI is messed up somehow. It really doesn't work. Crud. I'll fix it.

I think it must be a memory issue. I was going bananas looking for a bug, but I got the exact same scripts in this version to work in a smaller game with the AI set to aggressive. So, if they’re just sitting on their butts, turn the setting ‘texture limit’ down some more or play with fewer players, and set the setting AI Strategy to anything but ‘Normal’. I’ll get ‘em pepped up in the next one.

Hi Siirhaan - It works now! It took me forever to get those Hero voices to work in this mod, and they still get dropped in big games because this mod is really pushing the memory of the game, but I think this is as good as it's going to get. You should be able to just set Boss Fight or Jumbo Shrimp in the Research Boost settings, or Doomsday and Armageddon so they turn into a boss if you don't kill them in time. If you want to be a boss yourself, don't forget to build the ship for it all the way at the bottom of the Capital Ship build list. Have fun!

They're not set up corretly in this mod yet, but I'm trying to fix it right now. Normally, you can select Doomsday or Armageddon in the Research Boost game settngs and at a certain game time they turn into a boss fight. I think selecting Boss Fight or Jumbo Shrimp in the reserch will grant it right away, and I'm pretty sure this works. In Goliath they work for sure. I think I can update this mod today though, and I'll put the better descriptions in the game settings as well.

Thanks for the info! I can recreate the error, and I’ll get it fixed. I think other maps should work though because that’s the only map I could recreate the error on. But there are some things I need to update on this mmod from Goliath though, like the Doomsday devices and Heroes. I’m off until next year, and I’m totally in the mood to mod it up! I’ll update this one today or tomorrow.

Was trying to play this mod selected federation as myself Veger as CPU under Butch (Bishop)
Starting resources medium (3000)
Map is two player Mars
Everything else is default AI strategy is set to dynamic

Tried playing as other factions and got he same results.

I get a general failure as it's about to load is anybody else having this issue?
