Cartel - Wraith 4Z20

The Wraith 4Z20 is the most advanced SV designed for the hitmen of the Cartel.

Note : This ship is inspired by EVE Valkyrie Wraith with mods to be functional and to comply with all game restrictions.


Ship lore :

Still at the prototype stage, the Wraith distinguished itself in an operation impossible for any other ship. The more the Cartel grew, the more enemies it made : pirates, Zirax ... it was only a matter of time before the Polaris saw the organization as a serious problem. A growing reward was offered for informations leading to the arrest of Cartel's members. Dagger, The Lord in charge of "internal affairs", did an exceptional job in recruiting only reliable people and getting rid of any possible traitors. But as the organization grew, harder his work became and it was obvious that something was going to happen. One day, a member of the Cartel jumped ahead and went to a Polaris patrol. He have no idea about the Cartel's informants inside the Polaris army. Dagger got the information almost immediately and he contacted Big Father to ask him to send the 3 best Hitmen to keep him quiet. Big Father answered him that no Polaris should be killed, and also to provide three Wraith prototypes for the hitmens. But Dagger didn't tell that he would personally lead the assault, Big Father would never agreed to this.

Barely jumped in Polaris territory, the ship carrying the traitor heard a huge "Bang". The traitor jumped up and asked what that noise was. The captain replied that it was probably an undetected asteroid, but wasn't able to finish his sentence because of the ship's sensors alert. A huge enemy fleet was approaching. The traitor became extremely agitated screaming that the Cartel had found him and they were all going to die. The soldiers also began to be afraid, they all knew the story of Big Father's revenge on the King of the Bastards. The Captain sent a message to the enemy fleet stating that they were in Polaris territory and it was an act of war. There was no sound other side but only the the traitor begging for an emergency jump. The Captain, influenced by the traitor's panic, ordered an emergency jump. But only few ships had sucessfully jump.

Suddenly 3 new kind of ships appeared out of nowhere, the captain ordered the assault, but all his own ships were quickly immobilized by the 3 hitmens shots. Then Dagger approached the vessel who carried the traitor, he fired bullet by bullet on the vessel to cut it up carefully. Then a breach ejected all the occupants into space. Dagger come close to the traitor and hit him with his own ship, breaking the traitor helmet and leaving him to die slowly of asphyxiation. The rest of the Polaris fleet arrived at the same time observing the scene for a few seconds without any move. Then a Polaris vessel activated its inhibitor and ordered the 3 vessels to surrender immediately. Against all expectations, the 3 ships jumped out of Polaris territory.

This story has long been refuted by the Polaris command thinking that it was a disguised murder. However, the number of incidents involving a ghost ship made other factions to realize that the Cartel had a new kind of cloaking ship able to fire at very long ranges to destroy or "mark" targets, to destabilize sensors with drone decoys and also immune to jump inhibitors ...

L'histoire du vaisseau :

Encore au stade de prototype, Le Wraith va s’illustrer dans une opération impossible pour n’importe quel autre vaisseau. Plus le Cartel grandissait plus il se faisait d’ennemis, les pirates, les Zirax … ce n’était qu’une question de temps avant que les Polaris ne voient l’organisation comme un sérieux problème. Une récompense de plus en plus grande était offerte à quiconque fournissait des informations permettant l’arrestation des membres du Cartel. Le Lord chargé des « affaires internes », Dagger, faisait un travail exceptionnel pour ne recruter que des personnes fiables et se débarrasser de tout traître éventuel. Mais plus l’organisation grandissait plus ce travail devenait ardu, il était évident qu’un incident allait ce produire.

Un jour, un membre du Cartel sauta le pas et se rendit auprès d’une patrouille Polaris. Il ne doutait pas que le Cartel avait des informateurs parmi les Polaris. Dagger apprit presque aussitôt qu’un traître se dirigeait en territoire Polaris escorté par un groupe de vaisseau. Il contacta Big Father pour lui demander d’envoyer les 3 meilleurs Hitmens le faire taire. Big Father lui répondit qu’aucun Polaris ne devait être tué, et également de fournir aux Hitmens trois prototypes Wraith. Ce qu’il ne dit pas à Big Father en revanche, c’est qu’il allait personnellement mener l’assaut, car Big Father n’aurait jamais accepté de risquer la vie de celui qu’il considérait comme son propre fils.

Alors que la flotte Polaris arriva tout juste en territoire Polaris, le vaisseau qui transportait le traître entendit un énorme « Bang », le traître sursauta et demanda ce qu’était ce bruit. Le capitaine lui répondit qu’il s’agissait probablement d’un petit astéroïde. À peine avait-il fini sa phrase que les détecteurs du vaisseau se mirent en alerte. Une énorme flotte ennemie approchait. Le traître devient extrêmement agité hurlant que le Cartel l’avait retrouvé et qu’ils allaient tous mourir. Les soldats commençaient également à avoir peur, ils connaissaient tous l’histoire de la revanche de Big Father sur le Roi des Bâtards. Le capitaine envoya un message en direction de la flotte en précisant qu’ils étaient en territoire Polaris et qu’il s’agissait d’un acte de guerre. Aucun bruit autre que celui du traître qui suppliait de faire un saut d’urgence ne se fit entendre. Le Capitaine influencé par l’état de panique du traître ordonna un saut d’urgence.

Au moment d’arriver à destination, seuls quelques vaisseaux avaient réussi leur saut. Soudain 3 vaisseaux d’un nouveau genre apparurent, le capitaine ordonna l’assaut, mais tous les vaisseaux furent rapidement immobilisés, leurs propulseurs avaient été détruits par les 3 hitmans. Puis Dagger s’approcha du vaisseau transportant la traite, il tira à salve régulière sur le vaisseau comme pour le découper soigneusement. Puis une brèche éjecta tous les occupants dans l’espace. Il s’approcha du traître, et le percuta ce qui brisa son casque pour le laisser ensuite mourir d’asphyxie. Le reste de la flotte Polaris arriva au même moment observant la scène pendant quelques secondes sans réagir. Puis un vaisseau Polaris activa son inhibiteur et ordonna aux 3 vaisseaux de se rendre immédiatement. Contre toute attente les 3 vaisseaux effectuèrent un saut en dehors du territoire Polaris.

Cette histoire a longtemps été réfuté par le commandement Polaris pensant qu’il s’agissait d’un meurtre maquillé. Mais avec le temps, le nombre d’incidents impliquant un vaisseau fantôme firent comprendre aux autres factions que le Cartel disposait d’un vaisseau d’une toute autre nature, capable de tirer à très longue portée pour détruire ou « marquer » sa cible, avec de drones leurres pour déstabiliser les capteurs ennemis ainsi qu’un système l’immunisant contre les inhibiteurs de saut.
