Description
Drew McIntyre debuted with WWE in 2009 as Vince McMahon's "Chosen One" and was called a "future world champion." During McIntyre's first run in WWE, he may not have won a world title, but he did hold the Intercontinental Title for several months.

McIntyre's modest success on Smackdown during the first two years of his career did not translate after switching brands due to the 2011 WWE Draft, as he was featured rarely on TV until being repackaged later as part of 3MB alongside Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal. While 3MB lost often, the trio were often on television.

McIntyre left WWE in 2014 and worked for several independent promotions all over the world, all while using his real name, Drew Galloway. He debuted for TNA in early 2015 and formed The Rising, a stable that feuded with the Beat Down Clan. During his time in TNA, Galloway was often involved in the TNA World Title picture, and he did capture the title in 2016 after using a contract won in a Feast or Fired match.

At NXT TakeOver: Orlando in 2017, McIntyre appeared in the crowd and later confirmed he had signed with WWE. On the NXT brand, McIntyre defeated Bobby Roode to win the NXT Title before dropping the title to Andrade Almas and suffering an injury.

McIntyre made a major splash at the 2020 Royal Rumble, eliminating Brock Lesnar and going on to with the battle royal. McIntyre defeated Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 to win his first WWE Championship.
