This guide will give you information on the 2014 New Bloom Festival. The 2014 New Bloom Festival is playable starting January 29th.

Flamesalt Ingots can be earned by completing regular matches of Dota 2. Activating a Fortune's Favor increase the rate at which you earn them by 100 or 500 percent depending on which one is activated.



At the end of a regular match you might receive a Crimson Parcel. These can contain bonus Flamesalt Ingots and Jade Tokens.





The countdown on the Find a Match screen indicates when the Year Beast will next return.



Flamesalt Ingots translate to in-game gold and can be used to purchase equipment, fireworks and buybacks. The amount of gold you receive is based on how many Flamesalt Ingots you choose to spend. You're able to play a practice round against the year beast to get a better understanding of the fight before you consume your Flamesalt Ingots. Practice mode supplies you with an ample amount of gold and does not yield any rewards.

There are a number of special items available from the shop exclusive to the Year Beast game mode.

Players must attack the Year Beast and do as much damage as possible to him. You're able to attack the body, tail and horn. The tail and horn have have seperate health values and once destroyed will temporarily stun the Year Beast allowing you to deal extra damage.



If a teammate dies during the fight they can be resurrected by clicking on the tombstone that appears over their corpse. Resurrecting a player requires six seconds of channeling time by default, which is decreased if multiple players channel. If resurrection is not an option the player can also buy back into the game at the expense of gold.



Attacking the Year Beast will also cause him to drop health and mana potions.



The Year Beast has multiple attacks he can use against your team.


The fight will end once 25 minutes have elapsed or until your entire team perishes. Once the game is over a set of statistics will be displayed. Any remaining unspent gold will be converted back into Flamesalt Ingots.



The top 10% of players in the current cycle who deal the most damage to the Year Beast will earn an elusive Genuine Red Hoof courier as a reward. The coveted Genuine Jade Hoof courier is reserved for those in the top 1%.

Jade Tokens are earned by completing regular games of Dota 2 throughout the festival and by fighting the Year Beast. They are used to purchase event exclusive items. In order to earn Jade Tokens from regular games you or somebody in your group must have a Fortune's Favor activated.



You can redeem your Jade Tokens by visiting the Find a Match screen and selecting the Redeem button beneath your token count.






Bloom Harvest - Purchased for 1500 Jade Tokens.

This lockless chest can contain one of the following inscribed items.





Seal of Vermilion Renewal - Purchased for 1500 Jade Tokens.

Used to access the Treasure of Vermilion Renewal. The chest these keys open can be earned at the end of a regular Dota 2 game. The Treasure of Vermillion Renewal can contain one of the following items.






Recipe: Little Green Jade Dragon - Purchased for 500 Jade Tokens.

Requires a specific item from the Treasure of Vermillion Renewal and any Auspicious quality item. It crafts the following:






Recipe: Wardfish - Purchased for 500 Jade Tokens.

Requires a specific item from the Treasure of Vermillion Renewal and any Auspicious quality item. It crafts the following:






Bloom Basket - Purchased for 250 Jade Tokens.

Contains a random Common, Uncommon or Rare item of the Auspicious quality.








Bloom Bounty - Purchased for 3000 Jade Tokens.

Contains a random Mythical, Legendary or Arcana item of the Auspicious quality. It also has a rare chance to contain one of the following items.

During the New Bloom Festival you can offer items to the Eight Shades of Fortune. At two points during the festival the items you've offered will be collected and replaced with different loot. The items you'll receive in return for your offering will be directly affected by the quality of the items you've offered.






Offering an item can be done by right clicking on the thumbnail via your armory. From the drop menu select Make Offering. Certain items such as unusuals cannot be offered as they are deemed to rare.






Before the item will be offered you'll receive a notification requesting that you confirm the selection. Items which have been offered cannot be taken back and will be permanently removed from your inventory.




Items which you've offered can be viewed by visiting the "My Offering" tab found on the left side of your armory.
