Konsul B2 Break Universel President

In 1955 it was clear that Konsul B1 was an absolute failure and that Konsul B was way too outdated to compete with rivals. Engineers and designers designed a totally new bodywork, floor panel and suspension, yet the engine and gearbox remained fairly unchanged. Speaking of the engine and gearbox, it powered front wheels and was put infront of axle and angled about 45 degrees to the right side. Radiator was put behind the gearbox.
Konsul B2 entered production in may 1957 and remained in production even after the introduction of its successor, B3 in 1966.

This is the top trim model, President. Features metallised rims, radio (Eltron V-2-3, tube radio), metallised horn ring, two-tone paint, 5-speed gearbox (4 gears forward), front foglights, reverse light, soft top roof (so called „faltdach”), stained rear window and even seatbelts on front seats and side view mirror (only one)!
