This is a heavily modified version of KP Liberation. The factions, presets, and arsenals have been changed to reflect what was in use during the winter war in 1939.
This mission is somewhat based on the Svartmarka KP Liberation, however this one is focused on the Winter War.
Talvivaara is a much improved winter version of Chernarus made by Temppa.




Overview

The area has fallen to the enemy, and it is up to you to take it back. Embark with your teammates on a persistent campaign that will span several weeks of real time to liberate all the major cities of the area.

- Experience a massive “Capture the Island” campaign involving a large range of different settlements across the entire area.
- Cooperate with up to 41 players, including a Commanding role, two fire-team squads, a medevac and a logistical support squad as well as AI recruits to fill the gaps.
- Purchase both infantry and vehicles (both ground and air) using three different types of physical resources; supplies, ammunition and fuel.
- Build the FOB of your dreams with an in-game "what you see is what you get" system.
- Play within an immersive engine that not only punishes you for civilian casualty but diversely reacts in turn.
- Combat aggressive and cunning hostile forces who react and adapt to your actions.
- Monitor and work alongside, or against, independent guerrilla forces.
- Learn that every window is a threat thanks to the custom urban combat AI.
- Accomplish meaningful secondary objectives that will benefit your progression.
- Never lose your progress with the built-in server-side save system.

Locations:
- All factory and military objectives have hand placed objects to make them feel more believable as well as creating more intresting gameplay.
- Factory placement was done more strategically to make for better pacing of the game mode. This will mostly affect the early game.

Side Missions
- Rescue captured Finnish pilots from Red Army forces
- Locate and destroy hidden Soviet bases in the hills and mountains (hand crafted for this scenario)
- Interdict Soviet supply convoys




Early war equipment
During the winter war, the Finns had only few AT weapons. Instead they used improvised AT weapons such as throwable explosives (Kasapanos) and Molotov cocktails (aim for the vents on the T26). This means you will have to get close to deal with enemy tanks as infantry.
You will have to rely on AT guns and your own tanks once the enemy gets more aggressive. This creates an intresting dynamic: Tanks are much more dangerous and impactful on the battlefield situation when they show up. You should be very afraid of a T28E.

The restrictions of early war equipment and vehicles creates a very different gameplay feel and dynamic compared to other WW2 scenarios.

Report bugs and issues on this workshop page and not on the KP Liberation workshop pages/discord. This version is modified outside of the usual configs in a few places. This means any bug report you give the KP Liberation devs, might just waste their time, if its only related to my version of this mission.

Check your RPT for errors. And make sure your mods are actually loaded. It lists them in the .rpt

Hi, @Tiwaz I downloaded all mods even ACE, mounted and when I start LAN scenario I spawn naked without vest and unable to find ammo cache. What could I be doing wrong? :-/

So repair, rearm, refuel facilities arent working because no ACE on my side. That sounds workable. :-) THX

@HardShitMaker You may get some script errors and stuff when placing the repair, rearm, refuel facilities those use ACE functionality. Besides that its probably fine.

had to reinstall arma, workshop was just downloading .rar files for my game not pbos for some reason but it's fixed now

tried downloading and running with correct mods but the mission doesnt load at all, it downloaded as a broken rar file instead of a pbo
