X-15

X-15 is a rocket powered experimental machine developed by North American Institute of Aeronautics, with a total of three. The X-15 is probably the most important of the USAF / NASA / US Navy X-Series test aircraft after the bell X-1. In the 1960s, the X-15 broke many speed and altitude records. As its flight altitude reached the edge of the atmosphere, it provided important information for later research. It is also the first manned suborbital vehicle built in the United States.
