Introduction
------------------------------------------
The Devilbird is a collaborative project that introduces a brand new monstrous hero into the game's roster in their fight against the dark. Complete with custom sprites, skills, animations, sound, and dialogue. In addition, the Devilbird comes equipped with their own set of custom trinkets.

A religious hero, the Devilbird can be specced to provide great damage or potent status effects. Crafted by the finest minds within the ranks of the holy the Devilbird's initial abilities seem pitiful, until the enemy strikes and receives a devastating retaliation in the form of riposte.

"An agent of light, the Devilbird remains meditative in combat, waiting for the enemy to strike before responding with disproportionate zeal. Guided by the singular purpose behind its creation, should the weight of enemy sins grow too strong it can retaliate with the full force of divine intervention and condemn the dark back to their pits."

Combat Skills

Flagellate

The Devilbird rakes his abberant claws against enemy hide, his fervour readying him for divine punishments.

Melee attack with bleed. Increases riposte damage and causes riposte to increase Condemn damage.

Brand Sins

The Devilbird speaks in an ancient tongue, accusing the enemy of unholy crimes under the eye of the Light.

Ranged attack. Marks target with a weak dodge debuff. Lowers riposte damage and increases crit. Riposte marks the target.

Nesting

Spreading wide his wretched wings, the Devilbird places his physical form in the firing line of combat.

Guard ability. Marks self with a small protection buff.

Blinding Caw

An aberrant screech echoes through enemy ranks. Unlike any natural beast or product of the darkness it rattles the mind.

Low damage with a stun resistance debuff and weak stun. Riposte has a small damage and crit increase and a chance to inflict stun.

Oily Bile

OOOO
Gagging and choking on their own insides, the Devilbird brings forth a strange bile onto their wounds. It's exact composition is unknown.

Self heal: Small riposte damage and crit buff with a chance to apply a strong Blight.

Immolate Uses per battle: 2

Their spirit crafted by the most zealous mind, the Devilbird opens themselves up to the divine realm directly. Consumes by holy light their zeal is made supernatural.

Self stressing attack that marks self. Provides a small protection buff and a large riposte damage and crit buff.

Condemn Uses per battle: 1

A single caw reaches to the heavens, those who have sinned against the light's creation will suffer thusly.

Enemy party attack with low base damage. Deals significant bonus damage to marked targets and increases in damage when the Devilbird uses certain ripostes. Clears riposte.

"The fight between divine vessel and mortal beast is brought out most during times of respite. A disquieting fervour may fan the flames of zeal in their allies, or more predatory urges may take over as the Devilbird stalks the dungeon halls."

Stoke The Flame

Time Cost: 3
Sin exists in all flawed beings of creation, exorcising it from his companions can bring the Devilbird into a fervour.

The Devilbird gains +25% damage for 4 battles. One companion suffers 25% max HP damage and 10 stress if religious and 20 stress otherwise.

Preen

Time Cost: 4
Unique in construction, the Devilbird regurgitates many oils and balms to soothe their body and tend to their wellbeing.

The Devilbird gains a 10% protection and stun resist buff for 4 battles, and one disease is removed.

Beastial Need

Time Cost: 3
Despite their better nature, the struggle of a physical body creeps in. Letting their poise go the Devilbird slips into the night for a feast of unholy meat.

Prevents nighttime ambush. Party gains 10 stress and the Devilbird heals for 25% max HP.

Preach

Time Cost: 4
Imbued with all divine knowledge it gleefully imparts this upon its companions. Some aspects of their speech, however, are better left unheard.

Companions gain +8 accuracy and +8% crit for 4 battles. Religious heroes gain +7 stress and non-religious heroes gain +15 stress.
