UX-8 Minke

Description
The Minke twin-turbine medium lift helicopter was designed as a multi-role SAR helicopter that can operate from land, without support. By default it is equipped as a search and rescue helicopter with a variety of on-board equipment to tackle most situations. Fire extinguishers, flare guns, emergency medical assistance, etc.

In the SAR role the large cargo door opens to reveal a winch and harnesses for airlifting casualties at sea or in hazardous situations. The main hold has seating for 12 and 2 medical beds, along with a generous stock of first aid kits, oxygen masks, defibrillators and fire extinguishers.

Built-in flare launchers light up the rescue zone for night-time operations. Each press of the flare launcher gives you one flare on either side of the helicopter, 3 uses in total.

Radar and Emergency Beacon locator will help you pin-point ships at need.

Estimated range around 30-40km travelling at 75 knots, roughly around 30 minutes of real time. Haven't done an exact test yet, but should be more than enough for most shorter-range missions. Some logistics possible if shorter-range as high-torque will use a lot more fuel.

Book your free flight today and see if the Minke UX-8 is the right choice to replace your decrepit, ageing piston-powered I-don't-think-that-can-be-called-a-helicopter SAR fleet.

Features:
- Fenestron Tail Rotor - It looks damn cool.

- The Rescuer becomes the rescued - hit a rock, ran out of fuel? Unlock flares and the emergency beacon comes online so people can rescue YOU!

- Arctic clothing and on-board heaters - Fly out of Tajin's Airstrip and you won't turn into ice, and nor will your rescued passengers.

- Composite Harness Controls - Like me and don't have friends to play with? The pilot harness comes with hotkeys for the winch control so lock your altitude and rescue people all by your lonesome.

- Cargo Hold - For those pre 1.0 missions that needed small boxes and crates, we built a cargo hold inside the helicopter to keep them safe. Mostly.

- Humorous vehicle description - I hope you had a laugh reading this, have fun with the helo!

Notes for use:
DO NOT TURN OFF MANUAL ALTITUDE SET UNLESS YOU HAVE ALREADY TURNED OFF ALTITUDE HOLD. YOU WILL LIKELY CRASH. Also, do not turn on manual altitude set unless you have put in an altitude to hold. You will crash.

There is a high-torque gearing switch below the rotors. If you really want to use the helicopter to carry those big logistics crates you can. Just hit the switch under the rotor for high-torque mode. Mileage may vary (Yes, pun intended).

Feel free to repaint, strip the interior and do whatever you want, but if you reupload it please credit me for the original helo, and markers622 for the artificial horizon.

There's a microcontroller on the fenestron that controls two clutches, clamped at 0.4-0.8. The stabilized yaw feeds into that and sends a number that splits in two in the controller.

A positive number simply adds 0.4 to the output, and feeds to the left clutch.
A negative number goes through a switchbox, gets abs treatment and then adds 0.4.

Each output then feeds to either the left or right clutch. Download it and have a look at my solution, it isn't perfect especially at higher engine powers, but it works if you keep the rotor RPS between 40-60.

How did you make a fenstron work I can never actually use it for yaw
