Poor Tropical Island
421 items
Description
A complete collection for your poor tropical island city. Suitable for a Spanish colonial city in the Caribbean or South China Sea, or any place with endless sunshine, sheet metal roofs on plywood shacks draped in blue tarps with graffiti on every surface. Some larger, stately buildings like the Presidential Palace, old mission or colonial cathedral. Some older, smaller homes with stucco walls and accent trim add a touch of age to the city; but the overall impression is of a Banana Republic that has few prospects beyond harvesting natural resources, farming, and foreign tourism.

Viva, Tropico!

I think that was just my PC turned down to the lowest settings when I took those pictures. none of the assets are blurry like that in-game. No offense taken at all. I would love to see screenshots when you make a city inspired by Detroit!

Your "Slums" Collection had a few low-res models that were close to the camera some pics. The textures looked a lower resolution than that of the models on either side of it. I saw a comment there mentioning textures, though they said it was still a great collection regardless of a low-res model her or there. I'm totally still going to use this when recreating my home of Detroit, especially since working on a super detailed hi-res New York style city loaded with all Darf's assets is, well, is quite frankly putting me at the edge of my measly 16GB of RAM lol.
I wasn't trying to bash your collection, and I'm sorry if I offended you. I'm new to Skylines on PC, having just gotten a new PC with more than 4gb of ram and am coming to this 3D high RAM realm from SC4's pixel-sprites lol. It's all new to me, and that means askin lots o questions... usually without thinking first lol
sorry

I don't notice any super low resolution assets or assets that look half-loaded-in, so I cannot say if this is something local to your machine or network or part of the collection I have assembled.

If you mean what you see in my screenshots that may because earlier I may not have been using maximum settings and/or the way the in-game camera works to blur certain things not in focus in the shot.

All I can suggest is to subscribe and give it a try and see for yourself. 1,342 people to-date are subscribed to this style - if it was bad that number would be around 12.

Hey, I've run across a few of your district collections and always passed due to the models looking to be a mix of textures. Some seem nice, while others look like they havent loaded in properly yet. Are you just running on lower settings, or are some of the models lower res as a way of staying conscious of RAM?
