Description
This is the brick textured version of the RVA duplex 02a featuring paintable doors.

About the building
Model is inspired by a 1908 duplex built by James H. Goddin at 318 N 32nd St in Richmond VA. The queen anne style structure is a contributing structure to the Oakwood-Chimborazo historic district. I do vary from the original. I designed windows more befitting of the queen anne style. The doors on this brick duplex have 4 color variations and are paintable with proper mod.

Many urban early 20th century american neighborhoods have a mix of housing types and including duplex homes in your buiilds will add to realism.

This building should go well in a New England, Mid Atlantic or Rust Belt based city, as well as many other North American cities. There will be additional set of compatible Historic RVA homes forthcoming in the next few weeks.

About the Historic RVA collection
The Historic RVA collection attempts to recreate homes of the style constructed in Richmond VA in the period of 1880s-1930. I will continue to grow this collection over time with special focus on the areas of Church Hiill/Chimborazo, The Fan District and the mansions and grand apartments on Monument Ave.

Detailers should enjoy this collection as I will reskin many of the models to offer different variations like you would find in real-life neighborhoods. Could be as simple as brick vs siding or fancy windows versus basic windows. I will do my best to keep the poly counts down and share textures among different models but If you're playing on a potato then when the collection becomes large you may be best to just pick your favorites from the group rather than download all variations.

Not sure if it's just me, but this one, the LOD turns a solid bright red when I zoom out or scroll away from it. Any ideas?

That sounds awesome! I'll keep an eye out, and in the meantime continue loading up your RVA brick set - they're not a perfect fit, but they're still a vast improvement over most of what the workshop had on offer before for Ottawa.

@EvieGHJ - thanks for sharing. I may end up eventually modeling some houses from the Bloomfield area of Pittsburgh (300/400 blocks of S Pacific/Atlantic Ave). Based on what you shared from Ottawa I think if I picked some from there they would also work well for you.

The Centretown neighborhood in Ottawa, especially the area roughly delimited by Cooper or Lisgar Streets in the North (-North-West), Gladstone Street in the South (South-East), Broson in the West (-South-West) and Kent in the East (-North-East) has many buildlings that would probably work well as 1x3. I believe Gilmour and James streets between Lyon and Kent especially have a number of good examples of Ottawa architecture in this period, especially on the north side of the street.

Of course, whether or not they fit within your style is, well, your call. :)

Thanks @EvieGHJ. Glad you are enjoying it. I must preface by saying I am not taking commissions or specific requests. But if you have an area from Ottawa to recommend that has compatible brick buildings (suitable for 1x3 tiles) I'd take a look on Google street view and see if I get any inspiration I can meld with my RVA inspiration.

Thank you so, so, so, so much for this series. I've been looking for brick-faced buildings from that era forever for my Ottawa build, and they were almost impossible to find until you came along!
