The Greek colony of Massalia, today known as the French city of Marseille, was once the mother city of many Greek trading colonies in the western Mediterranean. From Massalia these Greeks explored the far corners of the known world, built a trading network ranging from the Baltic to modern Portugal, and served as the center of culture, learning, and civilization in the far west for centuries.

UA - Scions of Phocaea:

All coastal cities form water Connections after discovering The Wheel. Embarked Settlers have +4 movement and +3 sight. Gain a free settler when discovering Optics.

UU - Geographer:

Unique Massalian Scout. Requires Optics, but does not replace any unit. When embarked, the Geographer has +3 sight, +4 movement, and double defense. Massalia gains a Culture and Science boost, stronger in earlier eras, when discovering a Natural Wonder with a Geographer.

UB - Emporium:

Massalian replacement for the Caravansary, available with Sailing. Gives +1 Happiness and gives land trade routes +100% range and +1 Gold. When built in a coastal city, land trade routes connecting to another civilization yield an additional +0.5 Gold per luxury resource connected to your trade network.

Massalia is an expansive mercantile civ benefitting from land trade routes and naval exploration. Their unique ability promotes rapid, early game expansion over the seas with fewer penalties than other civs. Their settlers are even able to settle far off lands without escort, and benefit from exploiting new luxuries thanks to Massalia's unique building, the Emporium. With a trade network of many luxuries, the Emporium can greatly improve Massalia's income through overland trade routes. In addition, Massalia's unique Geographer unit provides the civ with rewarding early game exploration. But beware disgruntled or jealous neighbors, as spreading far and wide along the coast will anger many civilizations.

According to the legend of the founding of Massalia, Protis, son of Euxenes, a native of Phocaea, while exploring for a new trading outpost or emporion to make his fortune, discovered the Mediterranean cove of the Lacydon circa 600 BC. The king of the Segobridges invited the Greek to a banquet where his daughter was to choose a spouse among a number of possible suitors. To the surprise of everyone (especially Protis) she deserted the favoured Gauls and presented the ceremonial cup to Protis. As a wedding gift, the king gave the newlyweds land that would become Massilia.

@ryanmacdermaid, It's after the wheel is discovered, no emporium is required. It might not be instant though - did you see the connection not occur even after you ended your turn?

Built my second city on the coast and it's not linked to the capitol (also on the coast). Is it only cities built after the wheel is discovered, or is an emporium required?

Do you have any plans to make this YNAEMP v25 compatible, especially with the giant Europe map?
