Description
How to start a new save file SUPER QUICK:
  • Boot up your S.A.I.L., DO NOT CHOOSE BYOS IT BREAKS EVERYTHING
  • Press enter and type /admin, then /bountyhunter. You will be teleported to the outpost with all basic quests done.
  • Go accept the bounty hunter poster mission at the Outpost, then beam back up. You can teleport to the outpost from S.A.I.L., no need to bookmark any teleporters.
  • Go to the bounty hunter location from the map. You have infinite fuel in admin mode, don't worry.
  • If your universe generated correctly, the bounty hunter's Gentle Star will have a Lush (Tier 1) Planet on it, and that Lush Planet will generate Vinalisj's teleporter. Make sure to save that teleporter, because this will be your Starter Star. You can now type /admin again to return to survival mode.

KNOWN ISSUE: Some races will not get Frackin' Races perks. This is because when you subscribe to mods from steam workshop, the loading order is random. Until there's a mod that allows the user to set a custom loading order, this cannot be fixed.

Hi, i'm going to explain here why i chose these mods.

Core Mods
  • Stardust Core: The mod to make all other mods work. Formerly quickbar mini.
  • Starbound Patch Project: Because starbound is a surprisingly old game and someone was gonna do this eventually
  • Futara's Dragon Engine: Out of all performance mods, this seems to be the best one?
Gameplay Mods
  • Super Song Pack: Because playing moosic with frens is the best.
  • Enhanced Storage: Storage is now consistent with it's size on the overworld, which is super important because it gives incentive to use bigger containers instead of fragmenting your inventory to hundreds of containers. Also i literally cannot live without item sorting help.
  • Villagers Trust Players: I plan to replace this with a villager overhaul mod so npc's don't feel dead.
  • Player Dances And Emotes +: I must headpat the Jiyu kun.
  • Hunger Overhaul: Increases hunger duration to 60 minutes so going AFK doesn't immediately kill you, but also makes eating more realistic so eating a bowl of rice doesn't make you immortal.
  • Drop all items on death: For the authentic roguelike experience, but without the permadeath from hardcore, so you can pull up your sleeves, git gud, and go get your stuff back with the sheer power of angy~
  • Heartbeat 3.0: I always disliked how i have to look to the upper left side of the screen to tell when i'm hurt. I wish it also turned the screen red but can't have everything in life-
Frackin' Universe Mods
  • Frackin' Universe: When i first played vanilla Starbound it immediately made me stop playing Terraria from how good it was, and i legitimately thought i wouldn't need many mods. Boy was i wrong. Frackin' Universe is just so massive I cannot live without it anymore. And the developers behind it are actually listening, when i pointed out a softlock problem with using mechs in moons, they released 6.0 and fixed it IMMEDIATELY. They're on crack.
  • Frackin' Universe - Restored Hardcore Perma Death: Frackin' Universe replaces permadeath with an alternative hardcore mode that only removes ALL your items and pixels. Sadly, it also uses an alternative hardcore death animation. This animation completely softlocks the save file if you are using a race mod. So i had to restore hardcore, sadly.
  • Skip BYOS in frackin' universe: I'm sorry, i just hate BYOS. It has so many issues and bugs, many races are completely broken, and there's a massive memory leak issue that causes the game to slow down to a crawl should you decide to build a bigger ship while using a Steam Deck or similar. The race specific ships look sooooooooooo much better and upgrading to tier 10 makes them big enough to do anything you'd want to do on a ship. Anything that requires more space can be done on a planet anyway, which is a lot easier on the ssd and processor.
Avali Mods
  • Avali (Triage) Race Mod: CHIRP
  • FU + Avali Triage Patch: Because yes.
  • FU/ztarbound S.A.I.L. Modded Race Support: To go with the Skip BYOS mod.
  • Avali camps on frackin' planets: They should spawn on all planets now, but are still rare enough to make you squeal when you see them.
  • Avali Maid Outfit: s-shut up
