LAO 2.0 Nerf Addon (v.1)

@demarki WIth the standard Unique/Legendary items, the nerf addon it does not change what is on those. Those are all have fixed, or pre-built affix bonuses added manually to the items.

What the nerf addon will change is how many items affixes spawn on the Yellow "Random Unique" items. Those are "Unique" items without any predetermined item bonuses, the game will randomly assign them, based on how many slots are available for Unique items.

Vanilla settings are the settings the game was released with. The Unique slots were actually not used in the vanilla version of the game since all unique items are pre-built. The game will not assign any random affixes to an item that as an affix manually assigned, even if it is only one affix that takes up one slot.

@RnF Sorry for asking too many questions, it's just that some things aren't very clear. When you say vanilla you mean the base TL2 game, or LAO 2.0? Also you mention the nerf mod adds 1-4 affixes on Unique/Legendary items - are these on top of all other affixes?(for example if a unique has 1 socket and 3 affixes, will the nerf mod add an additional 1-4 affixes?)

@Dmarki Maybe that isn't worded very well. The nerf addon reduces the amount of all predetermined affixes to spawn on an item.

Each Item affix is assigned a number of "slots", basically a quality value, it can be anywhere from 1 to 999. Each item tier is assigned a total amount of slots or a pool of slots it can handle from random item affixes.

So if an affix is assigned 2 slots, it would take 2 slots away from the pool of slots available to that item tier.

The vanilla slots available for Unique/Legendary items is 10-12, so that same affix would take away 2 from that value. If each affix too 2 slots, a Legendary item could spawn 5 or 6 item bonuses.

Essentially the nerf addon will allow anywhere from 1 to 4 affixes to spawn on an item.

Vanilla settings would allow 6 to 12 affixes affixes to spawn on Unique/Legendary items. This can be overwhelming and can make items too powerful.

So the nerf will not allow as many item affixes to spawn.

@RnF So if I understood correctly, the LAO 2.0 nerf mod adds an extra 4 random affixes on top of all predetermined affixes that the Unique/Legendary item usually has, while LAO 2.0 adds an additional 10-12 random affixes instead?

@Demarki It doesn't affect Unique/Legendary items that have pre set item bonuses. It just changes the amount of bonuses on items that will roll them randomly, ie items without pre set bonuses.

I don't understand how this works, does it nerf all Unique/Legendaries to havng 5-6 affixes? If yes, what determines which affixes are removed? For example what if you remove good affixes from a Legendary, won't it just become crap?

Hello. I have a question. How can I keep the vanilla slot settings while using LAO 2.0 ? The number of affixes is overwhelming but I'd like to keep the vanilla numbers for uniques.

Acutally, the first version of this mod is what you want. It doesn't change the affixes on unique items, it just adds legendary versions of all uniques.
