Aircraft Functions

- Throttle modes. There are three different ways to use the throttle on this aircraft. By using 1, and 2 as push hotkeys, using up and down arrows as push hotkeys, or by disabling the throttle and using HOTAS mode which sets the default axis point to 0 instead of -1. The buttons to switch these modes are on the floor to the front-right of the pilot's seat.

- Control Switch. A standard control seat switch. The button to switch can be found on the floor to the front-right of the pilot's seat.

- Electric pushback feature. Not very realistic, but it increases maneuverability on the ground while taxiing. It is a push button, and it can be found on the floor to the front-left of the pilot's seat.

- Fuel Management (crossfeed valves) Useful for moving fuel around the aircraft. Valve switches can be found to the right of the co-pilot's seat.

- Standard Radio. There is a standard PTT radio in this aircraft. The channel switch can be found on the ceiling.

- Engine Hatches. There are hatches to access all engines on each pod. Engine 2 has two hatches on each side, while engines 1 and 3 have a hatch on the inside of each.

- Magneto switches. The left and right arrow switches on the three engine panels in the cockpit are magneto switches. To understand what they do, you have to understand what magnetos are. Magnetos essentially supply high current power to the spark plugs. When one is turned off, the engine will drop RPS, when both are on, the RPS will run normally. It's good to keep both of them on during flight. The gauge is setup to see which magneto is on. It is labeled to be read easily. -1 = L mag only, 0 = both, 1 = R mag only.

Quick Notes/Quirks

- Engine 2 (the main engine) feeds fuel from the right wing. When in the air, be sure to crossfeed the main fuel tank to the right wing more than the left.

- You may think engine 1 is the front engine, but the engines are actually numbered left to right. It is engine 2.

- Like the real Ford Tri-motor, engine 1 and 3 (outboard engines) have gauges, but they are on the engine struts themselves. They are ordered top-bottom, RPS, Oil pressure, Fuel pressure.

Startup Procedure

1 - Flip on both electrical breakers (left of pilot's seat)

2 - (optional) Turn on cockpit and cabin lights (window strut)

3 - (optional) Turn on nav, strobe, and tail lights (front panel; top left)

4 - Turn on fuel pumps (on ceiling)

5 - (optional) Switch to desired throttle mode (floor; front left of pilot's seat)

6 - Start engines (in sequence, left-right) Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 3

7 - Turn off brake (default on for both seats) and taxi

You're ready to fly!

Alright, quick update. This vehicle sucks. It just sucks. From looks to fuel to functionality, it just sucks. If you want to use it, you may feel free, but it sucks.

Which one did you ride in? If t was NC9407 owned by EAA, either they wouldn’t have let yo ion the bathroom, or it was a storage variant. Look up a picture. Most of these things have bathrooms.
