Cotral - MAN 3rd Generation

Cotral, acronym of Compagnia Trasporti Laziali and known in the past as Acotral, is the in-house company concessionaire of the suburban and interurban public transport service in the Lazio region, body that holds the entire share capital.
Founded in 1976 with the unification of the Lazio regional public transport managers, the company inherited from one of these, STEFER, the management of the Rome underground, the Rome-Lido, Rome-Civita Castellana-Viterbo and Rome-Fiuggi railways -Alatri-Frosinone and the Castelli Romani tramways. In 2000 the underground railway management was split from the original company with the creation of Met.Ro. (later merged into ATAC), leaving Cotral to manage only the interurban and suburban bus network of Lazio.
By connecting all the municipalities of Lazio, excluding the island municipalities of Ponza and Ventotene, with a total of over 8,000 daily trips, it is estimated that it carries more than 70 million passengers every year.
